Your "what-ifs" have no power here.
Brother Amin Abdullah was the guard at the mosque in San Diego for years. He was instrumental in stopping the shooters from reaching the children today. This was his final post on FB. On these holiest days, may Allah have mercy on him and accept him as a martyr. Ameen

Every Arabic speaker says "ahlan wa sahlan" (أهلاً وسهلاً).
Almost nobody knows what it actually means. It's not just "welcome." It's two promises hidden inside two words.
@AdityaRajKaul Bindus finally waking up and spreading their venom against Pakistan after they failed to add one ounce of value to stabilizing the region.
PS, Trump is not saaday maamay da munda, we owe nothing to the orange zio-pig.
@Shinamuller Now if only Karachites get off their asses and actually try and fix their city instead of larping "Karachi chalta to Pakistan palta" BS it might actually become a place worth visiting and appreciating.
Karachi Broke My Kitchen ( & I thanked her for it )
My greatest luxuries have always been simple and defiant. A room that is entirely mine, a stack of books that smell like possibility, and the cheap thrill of typing pure nonsense on social media just to watch the powerful and their little armies of followers lose their minds. And then, of course, cooking for myself. Eating what I make with my own hands.
I am skeptical about food the way some people are skeptical about religion. It is not poverty. I can afford to eat out whenever I want. But why would I, when my own kitchen waits for me? I only surrender to outside food when life drags me away from my room and my pots.
Still, certain things in Pakistan can make even a stubborn woman like me weak. Truck hotel daal with hot tandoori roti and that strong, milky roadside chai at dawn. That stuff hits the soul. But Islamabad always felt like the only real city to me, the rest of the country a hazy dream I did not need to enter.
Then came 2012 and Karachi.
For two long years I lived there alone & I had my own room, my own kitchen, everything I usually guarded so jealously. None of it mattered. Karachi swallowed my rules whole.
Student biryani, namkeen gosht that melted like butter, halwa puri dripping with sweetness and spice, Shinwari tikka straight off the grill, Sindhi fish red with chilies, Hyderabadi biryani fragrant and royal, dry masala bhindi that made me close my eyes in pleasure, and those lavish, clean, endless brunches at the DH Club. Every corner offered something insane and beautiful. I ate like a woman who had just discovered her senses for the first time.
I, who almost never eats out when I have my own space, completely abandoned my kitchen in Karachi. I walked the streets, sat in small joints, and let the city feed me. It felt like betrayal of my own rituals, yet I had no regrets. Karachi is a generous, wild, poor-friendly beast of a city. To compare it with any other place in Pakistan is to do violence to yourself. It gives everything, asks little, and somehow keeps its chaotic heart beating.
Those two years taught me something. Sometimes the greatest luxury is letting go of your luxuries and letting a mad, magnificent city take care of you instead.
@SsamanJay I haven't in my life met anyone who gives a shit about Karachi's food scene. People in Lahore are content with their cuisine and just generally appalled at how trashing their own city is an olympic sport for Karachites.
The food debate another instance exposing the of classism and chauvinism of Lahories and how they look down upon Karachi. But Karachi doesn’t really care, the ppp Sarkar and babus are trying their best to ruin it to the ground completely yet my beloved stands tall, resilient and free through the spirit of its generous, kind, all attuning, ghareeb parwar, feeding any and everyone from any and everywhere big hearted citizens. So please continue your classist behaviour and comments, we have heard much more before and seen this behaviour forever, it won’t even put a slightest dent on our spirit of generosity and kindness while serving the best and most versatile food across Pakistan. 💜
@MattooShashank Literally the whole world believes India lost the 2025 war it tried to start with Pakistan and here these paj33ts are reminding everyone of that catastrophe...you can't make this up 😭

The new weapons unveiled by the Turkish government during the SAHA Defense Expo indicate the future military strategy Ankara appears to be pursuing, not only to counter Israel, but also to prepare for a possible future confrontation with the United States.
It is becoming increasingly clear that Turkey has drawn many lessons from the recent war in Iran. The Erdogan government appears to view its future strategic posture in a way increasingly similar to that of the Islamic regime of Iran. As a result, Ankara is now accelerating a wide range of military programs in order to achieve the same kind of offensive and defensive capabilities currently possessed by the IRGC, including not only ballistic missiles, but also other strategic weapon systems.
The pace and direction of these developments suggest that Turkey is attempting to transform itself into a heavily militarized regional power with long-range strike capabilities and layered strategic deterrence similar to the model pursued by Tehran for decades.
