@MarioNawfal This statement disqualifies you as an analyst on the issue. And is one of the reasons I won’t be returning to your podcast. You have an agenda. And it’s not the truth.

Meet Sarah Joe Chamoun Aka the Mia Khalifa : Mia Khalifa's real name is Sarah Joe Chamoun but purposefully chose a 'stage name' that sounded more muslim so she could profit from and perpetuate the fetishisation of muslim women. Mia Khalifa is a Lebanese Christian who rose to fame by depicting herself as a Muslim woman. Engaging in racist and misogynistic pornography. Her exploitation and dehumanization of Muslim women is the only reason she is famous.

I appreciate the Govt decision to repay UAE 3 bn $. I assure you that we will get more in RDA. Self respect. Take back all ports given under UAE companies. Closely monitor financial transactions of banks having branches in Pakistan & UAE. Hawala will stop. Check all passengers.

My father does not even have a bank account abroad - he is one of the very few leaders of this world whose entire assets & wealth are very proudly invested in his homeland.

The Arab Zionist lobby wants to drag the region into this war for its Zionist masters. It has been calling for war against Iran, sending drones into Iran, pushing others to send navies to open the Strait of Hormuz, and planting fake news against mediating countries. & they will Fall.

The world should bookmark and remember this moment, a statement from the US Secretary of State openly acknowledging the punishment of two adult women, not for who they are or for any wrongdoing of their own, but simply because of who they are related to. This alone exposes the hypocrisy and double standards at play. It raises serious questions about how firmly the US truly stands by its stated principles on women’s rights and individual accountability
Secretary Marco Rubio@SecRubio

Until recently, Hamideh Soleimani Afshar and her daughter were green card holders living lavishly in the United States. Afshar is the niece of deceased Iranian Major General Qasem Soleimani. She is also an outspoken supporter of the Iranian regime who celebrated attacks on Americans and referred to our country as the "Great Satan." This week, I terminated both Afshar and her daughter's legal status and they are now in ICE custody, pending removal from the United States. The Trump Administration will not allow our country to become a home for foreign nationals who support anti-American terrorist regimes.

There are certain things that are constant and would remain constant under all govts. IK govt also took the loan from UAE. Countries take loans from each other and pay interest on it. That's not bad policy in itself. Now if the lender starts dictating domestic policy or your foreign policy, somewhere a line has to be drawn. In UAE's case, it should've been much earlier. But those who have to repay the loans have to do a cost-benefit analysis of where the lines are drawn. And it turns out, this is the mark. We don't know exactly what the UAE asked for, but we can guess. We can also see Pakistan said no and drew a line. So this is not a failure of foreign policy, this is a move to define it's boundaries and limits. How Pakistan does it, handles the fall-out, prepares a reposte - that will define the success or failure of this. But so far, if UAE was pushing Pakistan into war and it resisted, that is a good thing. Not a symptom of failure.
Zubair Ahmed Khan@ZubairKhanPK

Obviously it seems UAE is upset, They wanted something which they didnt get and now angry. But guess this is what happens when you take such favors which isnt even a favor at 6.5% interest. The Foreign Policy game we were or are playing had to come back to bite us someday

Pakistan's elite have billions invested in Dubai. If withdrawn and invested in Karachi and Gwadar, these two cities could create jobs for 50 million Pakistanis and earn massive foreign exchange. The tragedy is earning from Pakistan but investing in Dubai instead of embracing Karachi and Gwadar. Saudi Arabia and China could partner in this diversification.

With Etisalat owning PTCL and Israelis having free access to UAE, this should be considered a national security threat.

Pakistan has decided to return UAE's deposits held at the State Bank of Pakistan. اے طائرِ لاہُوتی! اُس رزق سے موت اچھّی جس رزق سے آتی ہو پرواز میں کوتاہی Loans are essentially predatory instruments but the UAE's loans were not only expensive, at a 6.5% interest rate, they were also becoming a direct threat to Pakistan's national security, one that Pakistan could no longer afford. The UAE-Pakistan relationship has been uneasy since 2015, when Anwar Gargash warned Pakistan to side with the "six-nation Arab Gulf Cooperation Council" after Islamabad refused to become a party to the Yemen conflict. Yet we can now see how well the UAE's own policies align with the very GCC it once asked Pakistan to support. At the time, the arm-twisting over Yemen was seen as an inescapable consequence of the loans. But the UAE's recent actions toward India have left no room for interpretation in Pakistan other than open hostility. During the May conflict, the UAE clearly told Pakistani officials at the highest level not to retaliate against Indian aggression or, in other words, not to expect any help from them. More recently, the UAE has signed a Strategic Defense Deal – a direct threat to Pakistan's national security – perhaps in response to Pakistan signing a Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement with Saudi Arabia. More could be said, but for now, I think saying what has been said suffices.

If the Pakistani feudal/business class recognizes how rich they can become after the collapse of UAE, they'd not care about the little toys they have parked in Dubai. Sadly, few understand this once in a century opportunity.

Pakistan is doing Right by helping our UAE brothers in distress who badly need back the $ 3.5 billion loan they provided Pakistan; after all, UAE is already heavily committed: UAE promised President Trump $ 1.4 trillion + proactive role in the Sudan & Yemen! Just a piece of brotherly advice: they better watch their backs as 4.3 million of 10 million UAE population is Indian, given India’s expansionist ‘Akhand Bharat’ (Greater India) designs in the region!

One regime troll comes in to defend UAE while others building up a case against UAE. This is what I was talking about. Multiple power centers, each with their own agendas. Gen Asim Munir should make sure no other agendas should survive under his when he has made this call.

There are some idiots trying to sabotage the Pakistan-UAE relationship. Both the countries have done a lot for each other and always appreciated that. The bond is tested through time. Beware of the propaganda!

There are around 1.8 million Pakistanis in UAE. That is around 16% of total UAE population. All of these people are productive members of UAE workforce. You cannot kick out these people without a corresponding dent in UAE GDP -- this is not unskilled labor, joining UAE workforce as a Pakistani is hard. And at this time when UAE is hanging by a thread? Furthermore, any hostility towards Pakistanis in UAE will impact illicit Pakistani capital outflows to UAE. That is probably worth a lot also. So, UAE doesn't hold all the cards. UAE cannot survive a hostile Iran and a hostile Pakistan. Pakistan is quite literally the gatekeeper of Hormuz and a natural and a better alternative to UAE in terms of shipping.
faraz@faraz_lhr

Btw, repayment of loan is the easy part. Pakistan got $7.9 bn dollar remmittances from UAE in 2025. If relations continue to deteriorate, expect much lower annual remittances in the future
