🇺🇸🇨🇳🚨CHINA CONFIRMS THAT PRESIDENT TRUMP LEFT BEIJING EMPTY-HANDED: - NO agreement on Iran. - NO concessions on Taiwan. - NO H200 deal. - NO decision on rare earth trucks. - NO release of Jimmy Lai, and fewer Boeing aircraft orders than expected. It was just a holiday trip…

@ZatheusR @Radstaker @R89Capital Because the US allowed it. Just like the US allowed China to buy oil from Venezuela after capturing Maduro, because they are buying oil in US markets (specifically Chevron) not at a heavily discounted price like before

@stepslanter @Radstaker @R89Capital Yes they do sell to China but now under our supervision in American markets, not at some heavily discounted price like they were before. US companies are now profiting from oil sales to China. But yea they still run off coal and renewables so LR they will shift away from oil

@LyaMove @Radstaker @R89Capital First off Iran & Venezuela still sell to China, plus China has the worlds largest reserves of oil, plus none of this matters in the long long run because the world is switching to renewables, which China is the global leader of 🤷‍♂️

@Radstaker @R89Capital It’s more about crippling Beijing’s oil supply. Iran and Venezuela, UAE left OPEC, force China to buy oil from US

@EdbieLigerSmith @CIA We have literally shut off oil going to Cuba from Venezuela and Mexico. They have no energy now, 22 hour blackouts. Hands are tied

@CIA 70+ years and you still haven’t been able to overthrow the Government of a small island country 90 miles off the coast of Florida. Absolute losers.

You did it, activists! Instead of the land being remediated and converted into a structure that contributes massively to the tax base of a shrinking city, the site will remain a polluted and mostly-empty gravel lot that stages disused construction vehicles!

@NYCMayor 98 billion dollar retirement obligation with 5 billion set aside and it grew by 187 million last year. Employees fork over 4 billion a year and it goes straight back out of the trust to the retirees.

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani
When we came into office, we uncovered a $12 billion budget deficit. Today, I’m proud to say we brought it down to zero. We didn’t close the gap on the backs of working people. We closed it while funding parks, libraries, safer streets and making historic investments in public housing. Call it Pothole Politics. Call it Democratic Socialism. It's government that delivers for the people who make this city run. That’s what New Yorkers deserve. And that’s what we will keep fighting for every single day.

Jane Street made ~$40B in 2025 with 3,500 employees, a ~2x from the year before. At ~65-70% profit margin, that's $8M profit / employee, the highest for a 1000+ ppl company. High-frequency trading continues to be the most efficient money making engine. I want to share an old story about my Jane Street interview in 2014. Jane Street was known for hiring a lot of math, physics and CS olympiad winners from top universities and putting them through many rounds - including, for trading roles, a gauntlet of mental math. It was my 6th interview and my final round and I recall being asked "What is the next day after today in DD/MM/YYYY where all the digits are unique?" They'd toy with you and say "You can use a pencil and paper, if you want" but you knew that was an instant no. Painstakingly and as quickly as I could, I came to an answer. "How confident are you that this is correct on a 0-1 probability scale?" the interviewer said. "0.95", I blurted out, not fully knowing how to answer that. "Are you sure?" After thinking harder for a few more seconds, I realized I could've flipped the digits around to get a closer date. I gave the interviewer my answer. It was correct. "0.95 huh?" he chuckled. That's when I knew I failed. Note: fwiw, other companies that come close in efficiency are - Tether ($90M+ profit/emp) - Hyperliquid ($80M+ profit/emp) and on revenue: - Valve ($50M/emp) - OnlyFans ($37M/emp) - Craigslist ($14M/emp) - Anthropic ($12M/emp, run rate) - OpenAI ($8M/emp, run rate) For comparison, Nvidia is very efficient at scale and is $4.4M/emp.
