Hi Craig, I'm very disappointed to see this post. You have absolutely no reason to introduce the trans debate and to state that I “dislike Dr Manivannan so much” - a man I had never even heard of before he was elected. Although your original article goes on at some length about trans issues, my post, very deliberately, makes no mention of his claim to be non-binary, the Greens' widely presumed motives for engineering his election or the possible interpretation of some of his published comments. This is because these are distractions from the point at issue, which is the circumstances and democratic legitimacy of the election of a non citizen, with only 5 years residence and no obvious ties to Scotland, to the Scottish parliament. Also, I would have thought that my comment re him being a “pleasant and gentle soul” was clearly exasperation with the defenders of his election, such as yourself. However, I do stand behind that point – I simply do not believe that someone studying for a doctorate in international relations did not know exactly what he was doing when he took part in this electoral chicanery. Which is exactly what this is, regardless of the legal small print.

I think we all know it is not a legal requirement to partake in someone else's ideology. Also there should be respect for that legal position. I would question the legality of @POScotParl imposing this ideology on our MSPs.
