In 1968 John B. Calhoun ran an experiment he called Universe 25 where he took a bunch of rats and gave them infinite resources and endless abundance but limited space. The population grew exponentially until males began fighting, females abandoned their young, and the younger males withdrew completely from society and stopped engaging, socializing, and reproducing. Then a new class of mice emerged called "The Beautiful Ones," who were physically perfect but never engaged in society or reproduced at all. All they were focused on was their appearance, grooming, eating, and sleeping. The rats went totally extinct after this.

Last month my intern asked for help with a Kubernetes error. He was stuck on a YAML file. He looked desperate. I make $275,000 a year. I haven't written a line of code since 2017. I don't even know what a "pod" is. But I didn't tell him that. I leaned back in my Herman Miller chair. I said, "Stop trying to code. Start prompting." I told him to paste the error into ChatGPT. He did. The AI told him to delete the cluster. He did. Production went down instantly. The CEO called me screaming. I didn't panic. I told the CEO we were "testing our disaster recovery protocols." He was impressed by my foresight. I got a bonus. The intern got fired. Innovation requires sacrifice. Just not mine.

The elite are the 1% - so they can't win in a democracy. In order to win they need to convince half of the remaining 99% to vote for them. To do this, they first buy up the press. Then they demonise minority groups and create a made up crisis to convince you that the minority group are the problem. Then, they convince you one of them, is on your side and is here to save you. Don't fall for it.

It was the same switch. His face went pale. "So you just... Google everything?" "Not everything. Sometimes I ask ChatGPT." He asked what he should focus on learning. "Learn to sound confident when you have no idea what you're doing. The technical skills will follow." He starts his senior role next month. I'm training him well.
