Just Let Me Pay You I'm on a flight. I want Wifi. There's a portal. It requires me to make an account. I don't want to make an account. Alternatively, I can "log in" with my booking reference code and my last name. I open the Delta App on my phone to get the booking reference. But the Delta App -- for some reason -- doesn't store my session, but rather wants to authenticate me *every single time* using Face ID. But I don't have internet connectivity so Face ID fails? And it's not using my passcode as a backup? Sigh. All I want to do is pay for the Wifi. I try three or four times, but there seems to be no way to open the app without Wifi. I hate this. I luckily find the booking reference somewhere in my phone's cached emails. I select the Wifi Plan and proceed to pay. The browser interface has disabled the system's automated credit-card filling. Thrillingly secure. There's an Apple Pay option. I select the right card. Apple Pay wants to jump from my Laptop and verify on my phone. Face ID doesn't work again, presumably because there's no network connection at all on my phone. Back to entering the credit card manually. Fine. I have to open my phone and go into my Apple Wallet and find the credit card information. Finally I am able to pay. This was a horrible process and deeply irritating. At multiple points I thought "screw this, I'm going to sleep". Or I can just do offline work for a few hours. No big deal. It is demeaning to crawl through this finicky process to get Wifi. I feel physically repulsed by this customer experience: I am ready to close my laptop and to move on with my life. This is a multi-billion-dollar airline. And it's not just them. All the time I run into extremely hostile user experiences in the flow of paying the company. Whether it's Target, CVS, Square, Delta, you name it: I'm trying to give them money and they have bugs or glaring UX issues that make me want to drop off the purchasing flow and curse them for wasting my time and raising my heart rate. All I am trying to do is give them money -- profits! amazing! -- and they are making it hard. If you want people to pay you for stuff, you should make it easy for them to pay you. This is so exasperating.

Don Sweeney said he'd rather be seeing James Hagens playing for the P-Bruins in the playoffs than for Team USA in the upcoming World Championships, but "rules are rules." Message to him was that "Going all the way from A-Z is not an easy path in this league"

Guess what folks. Fossil fuels are running out. Don’t want to convert to electric? You’re gonna need an alternate fuel for your engines. That’s where sustainable fuels come in. Ramp development through motorsport and it’ll hit a price and efficiency that’ll make it market ready. That’s why it’s relevant and that’s why it matters both in racing and on the road. OEMs want to push electric because it will force you to buy a new car. But the charging infrastructure is not ready and won’t be for decades. The international infrastructure already exists for mass rollout of sustainable, renewable fuels via regular fuel pumps. And it works in your engine like regular gas. Indycar already uses Shell 100% renewable fuel. F1 has adopted the move more recently. If you want to keep proper engines, you’ve gotta quit getting your diapers twisted over the one thing that’s going to continue to allow them to run.

@Her_Nonymous_D We always book & pay for aisle seats , across from each other if possible. We are regularly approached by folks offering their middle seat so we can sit together. We’ve sat together at home for 50 years. We can manage a flight in a comfortable seat without missing closeness .

I always hear stories about people acting entitled on flights, like seats are just… suggestions. Today happens to be the first time I actually watched it happen in real life. I was already seated when a family came in and took the row next to me. They had booked the middle and the aisle, but somehow managed to spread across all 3 seats by putting their “lap child” in the window seat. I remember thinking, okay… this should be interesting when the actual seat owner shows up. Sure enough, a few minutes later, a woman came down the aisle, checked her ticket, and stopped right there. “That’s my seat,” she said, pointing to the window. The family looked at her and asked, “Do you specifically…

@MatthewFairburn That "trip" is called a slewfoot, something Marchand would get a five game suspension for doing.Sending a guy crashing into the boards with 30 seconds left is bush league, and a slewfoot is suspension worthy.

Charlie McAvoy has been the dirtiest player in this series, and he gets one last dirty play in. After getting tripped by Benson, McAvoy got up and swung his stick at him. McAvoy is -6 in this series by the way.

Hallie Batchelder reveals how she got a free boob job “I really wanted to get my tits done because they looked really sad. I had gained weight, lost weight, and they looked really depressed. I was hooking up with this guy at the time, he was like this hedge fund owner, billionaire guy, and he was like, ‘I’ll pay for your tits.’ So he Venmo’d me like 12 grand or something. Him and his friend both split it, so they each had a tit or something” “I just pocketed that money and told my parents, ‘Listen, if I get my real estate license, will you pay for my tits?’ And they were like, ‘Of course.’ So these guys think they owe my tits, but really I just got my real estate license and my parents paid for the tits”

Disney doesn't care about Jimmy Kimmel or even ABC. It cares about one thing: keeping itself alive. I know firsthand. Back when I was at CNN, Diane Sawyer asked me to help her "reinvent television" by joining ABC. We became "BFFs" for a while, working so closely that my wife thought she had a thing for me (um, no). We announced our plans on my radio program. But then, later that day, I stopped hearing from her. Come to find out, CAIR had gone directly to Bob Iger and threatened to boycott Disney if ABC hired me. He immediately gave the order banning me from appearing on ABC. I asked around and turned up the heat until she finally invited me back on. But instead of the two of us reinventing television, she had me debate an imam about Islam. About a week later, she asked if we could have lunch. As soon as I sat down, she began tearing into my faith, claiming that I hate women (um, a little ironic given that Disney bowed to Islamists). I'm convinced she had to leave there hating my guts to justify the betrayal. I learned then and there that nobody at ABC or Disney was sincere. They didn't hold any true values, except for what's good for them. If my political beliefs suddenly became mainstream, I'd bet Disney would torch Jimmy Kimmel without a second thought. Immediately. They don't care. That's why I know: if you really want to send a message to ABC, send it to Disney's bottom line.

Dave Dombrowski: "I think Alex Cora’s one of the finest managers in the game of baseball. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with Hall of Fame managers like Tony La Russa and Jim Leyland and have been very fortunate in my career. I think if Alex Cora decides to keep managing again, he has a chance to be in that same category."

Dave Dombrowski on trying to hire Alex Cora in Philly: "I talked to him on Sunday morning. We talked about potentially taking the job. I had told him I had really come to the conclusion that if he took it, I was going to make a change. I thought he might take it. As time went on over the next day into Monday morning, it was apparent from his perspective that he wanted to take time with his family. "It wasn’t because of pay or because he’s paid through the next year. He just felt that he wanted, at this point, to be a father first and foremost. That’s what he had decided."
