The fact that he played Gavrikov the 4th highest of TOI during the playoffs last season was a complete travesty after the regular season that he had.

@JWPatarino @NHLRussell Yeah I see both things as major issues. The defense as constructed is now nigh-irreparable with Father Time reaping, long term deals, and a lack of assets. But when EVERY PLAYER is underperforming, that’s on coaching imo. Very few exceptions, like Armia.

Yes, Jim Hiller should be fired. But remember he was only one of the nails that Robitaille/Blake/Holland hammered into the coffin. Joel Edmundson, Cody Ceci, Brian Dumoulin. They have arguably the worst crop of defensemen in the NHL. No coach will survive that. #GoKingsGo

Here's the fundamental flaw in Poch's logic: Our best players in NL didn't get the job done. So his tactic is to call drastically inferior players who have "fight" to replace/push them. That can work if the quality gap is small. But the gap between them is so large, no amount of "fight" makes up for it. He's being paid $6m a year to get the best out of our best players. Instead he's messing around with guys who will NEVER have what it takes to compete at a WC, regardless of whatever fight/passion they might have.

@StanUsmnt Or their inability to actually do simple minutes math? Sargent never got an extended run that even Ferreira and Agyeman got. In part some of it was due to unfortunate injury but still leaving him out this summer was ridiculous.

When he gets more than 200 min in 2.5 years. I don’t understand our fan bases inability to detach from Sargent 2019-2022 and the current Sargent. If he was given real chances this cycle I bet we would see results. He’s become a far better player than he used to be.

If Spence is scratched in favor of Moverare I don’t really get that decision. Even if you haven’t liked some part of Spence’s game, Moverare played 1 shift in Game Two and only got that shift after the game was out of reach. You clearly don’t trust him so why make this change?
