This is so true. Currently going through the system implementation with one of my portfolio companies. It’s taking them 3 years to do so. When I have to run some cash flows, I need to pull data from legacy accounts and then new accounts and try to bridge everthing

You don't appreciate PE ownership until you work with a non-sponsor backed company. Data and financials are a mess, the "model" is all hardcodes, and management is less sophisticated.

Oaktree is expanding into private credit in Asia. PC is a tough business in Asia - everyone focuses on Korea, Japan, Singapore, Australia. Nobody touches places like Vietnam, Malaysia etc maybe it will be the beginning of meaningful capital to be deployed

@debt_serious I actually think we may experience an absolute blow out of one of these companies. Insurance balance sheets are absolutely abused. People are doing weird deals to get good bonuses, they don’t need to syndicate so nobody really checks their work. Turnaround is also high

I never saw this either. A friend of mine was an intern at IB in Zurich. He had to order dinner for the entire team every night. If the food didn’t arrive on time, seniors would not pay for it. So he had to negotiate with restaurants. Prepares you for anything in life I guess

@HighyieldHarry Honestly I can’t with these guys on Twitter who never worked in finance but continue to create finance content. I never saw a junior person making coffee for someone. Why would they? Offices have amazing facilities with free coffee. Seniors go out for coffee catch ups often
