Russian oil production continues to collapse, with what they promised OPEC now totally impossible, as wells close due to lack of storage and functional logistics. And Ukraine hasn't even begun to strike the wells yet.

@NotLeafsNeedGod I found that sens canes series was very physical whereas habs canes was not. Both had some close and not no close games.

As an honest Leafs fan who hates both teams and fanbases, the Sens played a much better series than the Habs against the Canes No bias whatsoever

The Hurricanes are frustrating because they're annoyingly good in almost every aspect of hockey. I'd argue they've done a great job building a powerhouse franchise, and aren't remotely as dirty as most playoff teams. A good team for MTL to emulate in the long term.

@MTLhockeynow what is impressive on the canes is that their 4 lines are quite evenly matched - not much of a drop off between the 1st line and the grinders on the 4th. That is very impressive. Very few teams at any period have such a balance throughout the lineup.

Canes fans mocked all of Montreal with the “OLE” chant

Carolina fans chanting "OLE" at Montreal is disrespectful mockery dressed up as fun. The Hurricanes eliminated a historic franchise and chose to humiliate them instead of showing respect for the opponent. That chant will be remembered as classless not clever. Winning with arrogance beats losing with dignity every single time in hockey.

@HFTVSports I had the habs missing the playoffs at the beginning of the season. The Habs very young and there's glaring holes in the lineup. They overperformed. The Leafs never made it to the conference finals since 2001-02. So the rebuild never worked. They lost patience way too soon

You reap what you sow. Credit to the Habs for what they did against Buffalo/Tampa, but whatever they did was not gonna work against the Canes, and it was quite evident as of Game 2. Not taking enough shots, PP lifeless and our man-to-man system being deficient has been the story of nearly all our losses in the playoffs. We stuck to our ways, and that’s what it was gonna give, for better or for worse. Obviously it’s been an incredible season, incredible playoffs, but losing like this when we’re so far into it leaves a sour taste in your mouth. You can’t take an ECF for granted, you don’t know how many of those you’ll get (ask the Leafs), so I hope this was the first of many, but teams will get better this summer, and I expect the Habs to go out and address the glaring issues in our lineup to remain at the top of the Atlantic. Big shoutout to Dobes, Newhook and Hutson for being stars of the playoffs, absolute giants in the biggest moments. Otherwise, GO HABS GO FOREVER, we will be back folks 🫡

@KATSENHAKER0N @CanadiensMTL Crazy how that “subpar” goalie outplayed your entire team and is in the cup finals and will win the Conn Smythe if they win the cup. Dobes is nothing but a glorified skinner

PLAYOFFS: They flamed out against an elite, mature shutdown team, after battling to two Game 7 victories against the 5th and 4th best teams in the NHL first. It wasn't always pretty but they proved their resilience, depth beyond the Suzuki line, and Dobes emerged as a star.

Montreal Canadiens 2025-26 Retrospective: Many will agree this was the most exciting #Habs team this century. Not even 5 years into a rebuild and they finish 6th in the NHL with 106pts. In a year of many ups and few downs, let's look at how things went and where they're headed:

@CoachMac950 @HabsOnReddit There is a need for tough, physical players - guys like Staal on the Canes. They are hard to find, but worth their weight in gold in the playoffs. Disappointed that Gally and Arber were left behind at the end. They could have given the team a spark.

@HabsOnReddit Incredible season. That said, after these past four games with no adjustments being made, and with how badly he was out coached , I think Marty has to have a shorter leash next year.

@FellowJonathan @HabsOnReddit i think they will make the playoffs next year but it will be harder as they are now known as one of the top teams in the east and there will be no freebees. I agree with them being small - more playoff Anderson. Also Arber and Florian need to see more ice.

They’ve drafted well. However it’s not a winning lineup. Outplayed in 6 of the last 7 games. Their so called core is small. They have a lot of holes. They need another puck moving defenseman, a fighter, and a big centre. They need some wingers strong on the forecheck. The Habs will miss the playoffs next year. Not good enough.

@rbarkleyhockey texier was criticized for a stupid penalty earlier in the series so he was being careful and he is not a physical player at all - great heads but soft and small.

@HabsOnReddit I like this kid. He has that hunger, that extra motivation that all the greats have. I’m excited to see him get even better, bc I think he has another level to his game. He needs to add some meat to those bones. Someone give him coupons to the rib’n reef or something.

Lane Hutson after the Habs playoff elimination tonight: “I’m proud of the group, I look forward to starting the journey again…As close as it feels, we’re so far away still. There’s so much more to do, to battle, and get to the ultimate goal. Even when you win two rounds, you still gotta find another level for the next round and hopefully keep going.”

@KrejicMaso55780 @polidemitolog Armenia is a poor landlocked country with few natural resources and a small population - how exactly are they freeloaders? They get no help from Russia which has a military base there for geopolitical reasons.

@polidemitolog Russia should just let Armenia go, after all Armenians have always been freeloaders, With Armenia gone, Russia can fully cooperate with Turkey and Azerbaijan, In the next 5 decades Armenia might not exist, Not even EU will choose Armenia over oil producing Azerbaijan.

In the case of Armenia choosing the EU over Russia, you can observe the same model Russia used against Ukraine even while Yanukovych was in power. Not only propaganda, but blackmail and veiled threats. The difference is that Yanukovych caved in to Russian pressure and Pashinyan isn't going to do that.
