One of the most fascinating finds.. so this is what am currently reading. A 1923 study of the Lango people of north-central Uganda by British colonial officer Herbert Driberg who narrates the origins and history of the group. #ExploreUganda #Lango #Luo #booklover #BookTwitter

We all love desert tortoises, but if you ever encounter one in the wild, please leave it alone. If a tortoise is scared, it will void its bladder, potentially losing a year's worth of fluids that it needs to survive.

Yesterday, the Uganda Wildlife Authority launched the State of Wildlife Resources in Uganda report at its headquarters. The report highlighted key figures and trends in wildlife populations. Showing both growth and areas of concern, including updates on endangered species. It also shed light on the impact of demographic changes and expanding human settlement on wildlife habitats. A strong focus was placed on efforts to address human-wildlife conflict and promote sustainable coexistence. An important milestone in tracking progress, understanding challenges, and shaping the future of conservation in Uganda. #ConservingForGenerations

Habitat loss is a silent threat. With Uganda's human population growing, lion migration corridors have been blocked. Our strategic plan focuses on restoring these key habitats and securing open landscapes so our lions have the space they need to roam and breed. #HumanWildlifeConflict

Walking through the compound that houses the Kasubi Tombs, the main path leads to what should be an entrance. But it ends at one of the layers of thatch covering the 25-foot structure known as Muzibu Azala Mpanga. It looks like a giant basket turned upside down. If it weren’t for the rows of shoes laid neatly outside, you’d never know there was a way in. cnn.it/3QeESJn
