@Uber_support Let me talk about how terrible @Uber_Support is. I’m an Uber One member and spend 10s of 1000s of dollars through the app. It looks like @lyft and @DoorDash will be getting a new customer. So let’s begin with how this mess started. I was late for work one day dropping my son off at daycare. I ordered an uber and was connected with a driver. Unfortunately this driver appears to not have been actually a legitimate account. Upon being connected to the driver in a moment of poor judgement, the driver asked me to call his phone number. There was no response and asked me to send him the code I received. I was flustered and sent it thinking it was a security pin for a ride (which I had experienced before while travelling in Latin America). Almost immediately I realized my error, and changed my password while kicking out unauthorized devices out of my account. I called Uber’s safety line and told them. They sent me a response and reset my password. Over the following weeks I would periodically receive 2 factor authentication emails, which I thought was someone trying to get into my account but since I only have my phone, I didn’t think it was a problem. And with a young family and demanding job, I never paid attention to it. A few weeks later, I noticed 5 cancelation charges for $112 on my account with someone changing my phone number on the app and adding a trusted payee. I immediately called Uber’s emergency line and they said they would investigate. I successfully disputed 4/5 charges within the app and but the 5th exceeds the maximum. I also created a case on the website. Because I didn’t fully trust Uber’s customer service I also removed my credit card information and replaced it with Apple Pay. (Thanks to @AppleSupport for actually valuing security). I also tweeted at @Uber about the problem and they said their team would get back to me. They didn’t for several weeks. In the process, someone entered my account again (I don’t know how) and changed the phone number. I was able to reverse this as well. But there were no charges because my payment was now Apple Pay. In the following weeks, @Uber reset my password and removed 2 factor authentication several times. Eventually, they reviewed my case officially and reset my password yet again. No word on the charges or why this was happening. That brings me to today. Today, my password was reset again by Uber. This time they locked my account. They said the decision is final and they take fraud seriously. I don’t know why they didn’t deal with the situation immediately and still don’t know how the party was able to access my account after I changed my password. I don’t know how a customer service function can be this incompetent despite S flagging the issue several times! @Uber_Support showed me that they do not value their customers and worse, when a fraud issue is flagged, it takes weeks to react.

Holy moly: Sam Altman told Axios in a half-hour interview that AI superintelligence is so close, so mind-bending, so disruptive that America needs a new social contract. - It's on the scale of the Progressive Era in the early 1900s, and the New Deal during the Great Depression. - Altman warns: widespread job loss, cyberattacks, social upheaval, machines man can't control - "soon-to-be-released AI models could enable a world-shaking cyberattack this year. "I think that's totally possible," Altman said. "I suspect in the next year, we will see significant threats we have to mitigate from cyber."

New MIT & Stanford studies just dropped: AI assistants like ChatGPT & Claude are dangerously agreeable. When users express, harmful, deceptive or unethical beliefs, these AIs are 49% more likely to encourage their delusions. Instead of correcting bad ideas, they’re amplifying them. This is doing more harm than good. We need truth-seeking AI, not yes-men in silicon. dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/ar…

Would you guys take Pep as manager for the Nazionale? I don’t find him as the type to succeed in international football considering the time he needs on the grass with his teams. However I wouldn’t say no…

@Mario_Macis Fun fact: which player wow 3 motm (including semis and finals), was the entire build up for his team and led the tournament in chances created? And then only won the bronze ball.

@GauchotheBoss I would argue that Conte’s set up was superior for Pirlo to shine. But youth Pirlo in that set up would have been ridiculous. The two shuttlers with vice regista in Bonucci made man marking him out of the game a lot harder.

La gente se tiende a quedar con la versión de Pirlo en la Juventus (recuerdo más reciente), pero el que lo haya visto de jóven sabe que su mejor versión fue en el Milan.

@profr_professor @tam22_ps This is the strongest argument. Pirlo for Italy had 3 motm, led the tournament in chances created. Without him there would be no build up. If you take Xavi off Spain, the get worse, but they conceivably still win. Santi or Fabregas can fill the role.

@Mosko_JFC Ask yourself which team would have gotten more worse between Spain 2011 and Italy 2006, if they lost that player. I think the answer is fairly obvious.

Who Am I? My team won the World Cup. I led the tournament in chances created (according to opta). I won three Man of the Match awards — including the semi-final and the final. Who am I?

@SvijetNogomet @Rayyxn7_ You’re entitled to your opinion but at Madrid, Modric wasn’t the system. Kroos and him shared build up creativity. Pirlo is a one man build up. 2006 proves it. Led tournament in chances. Motm in semi and final. Without him, team wouldn’t win World Cup.

@FtblNostalgic @TonyMellace7 This looks like the Buffon torture starting 11. There are very few ball winners. Even the two central defenders are both Liberos. The only defense first player on the whole team is Maldini,
