Given that a robust regulatory process is often touted as being very much in the public interest, it's peculiar when a regulator chooses not to acknowledge what the public declares it is interested in...in this case, hearings that are not remote. #HCPC #FitnesstoPractise

You might recall @The_HCPC consultation on continuing to hold remote #FitnessToPractise hearings following the pandemic. A staggering 87% of respondents to the consultation did NOT agree that the HCPC should be able to continue remote hearings. The HCPC's going ahead anyway.

Last week, the MoJ published the most recent annual statistics on inquests. Key findings include: - The highest level of deaths in state detention since reporting began. The increase is thought to be largely driven by covid-19 deaths in the close contact prison environment. /1
