An effort to make daylight saving time permanent is one step closer to becoming law. The House overwhelmingly passed the Sunshine Protection Act, a bipartisan bill that would allow states to observe daylight saving time year-round. The measure now heads to the Senate, where its future remains uncertain. President Trump has said he supports ending the seasonal clock changes and is expected to sign the bill if it reaches his desk.
