Ohio Governor Mike DeWine issued the following statement on the Supreme Court of the United States' decision in Mullin v. Doe, regarding Temporary Protected Status (TPS): "Today, the United States Supreme Court issued its ruling allowing Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to be canceled or expire.    "Today’s decision is a legal decision.  As I have stated in the past, the policy to remove these individuals from this country is a mistake. "As a result of today’s ruling, the over 10,000 Haitians who have been living in Ohio (mostly in the Springfield area) legally through TPS will now be here illegally and will be subject to immediate deportation. This also means that while these Haitians were working and contributing to our community and economy yesterday, today it is now illegal to employ them. "The situation in Haiti could hardly be much worse.  The violent gangs run most of the country.  The government barely functions.  And, the economy is in shambles. "Further, our federal government has an advisory against traveling to Haiti, and our Federal Aviation Administration prohibits U.S. carriers from flying there because of the danger to planes of being shot at by the gangs.  "But, more importantly, changing the immigration status of these individuals is not in the best interest of the United States nor Ohio."

Grandpa is having a senile moment again. So much to unpack here. First he claims that Spirit was about to merge with People Express. People Express went out of business in 1987. Spirit didn't even form until 1983 as Charter Airlines and didn't acquire its first jet and become Spirit until 1992. Dude doesn't even know what century he's in. Then he claims that if we bought Spirit, we'd be buying a company with virtually no debt. The whole reason Spirit is going bankrupt because of its debt. It has 7.4 billion worth, in fact. He then goes on to say that Spirit's problem is high oil prices. Spirit has been failing for years, and especially last year when oil prices were at their lows. The reason Spirit is failing is because they never recovered their post-Covid budget traveler segment and, as a low cost carrier, they can't increase prices without losing their captured customer base, which means their margins are being crushed. Rising fuel costs are just the last cherry on top. As if ALL THIS weren't bad enough, Trump then goes on to claim that he could "flip" the company because "they've got a lot of good aircraft". One of Spirit's biggest problems is that a large portion of their fleet is grounded because Pratt & Whitney sold them a bunch of dud engines and the frames aren't airworthy. Spirit literally can't even use a lot of its "very good aircraft". They also haven't been profitable in 7 years. Someone put grandpa to bed, he's gotten into the medicine cabinet again.

Since he owned the golf courses and resorts he traveled to when golfing ... rather than paying Trump $400,000/yr of presidential salary, tax payers were paying Trump for those golf trips, for the rooms, the food, for Secret Service rooms and food, other security measures, and whatever other amenities were included — that total came out to roughly $36.5 million a year on average. The Pedo-in-Chief @realDonaldTrump spent 307 days in his first term golfing — almost a full year — costing tax payers roughly $145-152 million by the end of Trump’s first term. So rather than pay Trump $400,000 a year, us tax payers ended up paying him roughly $36 million a year. During this second term, as of April 2026, us tax payers have paid the Pedo-in-Chief @realDonaldTrump approximately $101–105 million so far. That's definitely waayyyyyy above his $400,000 a year salary. And he's only been in office a year and a half. ZELENSKYY’S response to JD VANCE: Vice President, with all due respect, isn't taking part in negotiations between US, Ukraine, and Russia. Otherwise he would understand the difference between 'scrap of land' and sovereign territory of Ukraine. This important territory is priority from security perspective with strong defensive structures, fortifications, and where about 200,000 people currently live. He would understand that Russia's goal is occupation of Eastern Ukraine in order to prepare a bridgehead for subsequent offensive actions. So, before doing anything, we need to have detailed security guarantees. For now, Ukraine simply does not have security guarantees necessary to talk about other steps. And of course, every square meter of our land is Ukrainian land and, with all due respect to any of our partners, it is definitely not theirs.

For all of my life Russia has tried to decouple Europe from America and break the North Atlantic Alliance. It never succeeded. Instead it lost the Cold War, leaving NATO more powerful than ever.  But now success is staring the Kremlin in the face. All thanks to Donald Trump.  Denmark’s Prime Minister says that if Trump tries to take Greenland by force it would destroy NATO. He’s right, of course. The problem is President Trump doesn’t seem to care.  Previous Presidents have toyed with the idea of acquiring Greenland. Harry Truman even made an offer in 1948 — $1.5 billion in today’s money, since you ask. The Danes turned him down.  But Trump is the first President to threaten force if he can’t get what he wants by negotiation.  Nobody should underestimate the catastrophic consequences for NATO if its leading member annexed the territory of a smaller member. It would be the abnegation of everything NATO is meant to stand for.  Nobody denies Greenland is gaining in strategic importance to America. Melting ice is opening up new sea lanes around it of growing geopolitical and economic significance. It sits almost midway in the Arctic region between Russia’s northern coast, with its intercontinental ballistic missile bases, and the US mainland. It is on the approach route to America should these missiles ever head this way. It’s why America already has a crucial Space Force base in Greenland.  So when it comes to Greenland the US obviously has skin in the game. But the crucial point is that, in security terms, America can have whatever it wants in Greenland without annexing an ally against its will.  After it turned down Truman, Denmark signed up to the 1951 Greenland Defence Agreement (renewed in 2004). It gives the US the right to build as many bases as it wants and station unlimited numbers of military folk there. During the Cold War around 15,000 US person were based in Greenland. It’s now 200.  Trump claims Greenland is under threat from imminent takeover by China and/or Russia. It isn't, of course.  They haven’t seen a Chinese ship up there for 12 years. But if Trump truly believes it, there's nothing to stop him from ramping up US military assets in Greenland back to Cold War levels or more. Moreover his European Nato allies are on side – the defence of what's being called the 'High North' does need to be bolstered. That's why they sanctioned some extra troop deployments to Greenland last week, a small first step to increase Nato resources in the Arctic.  But instead of welcoming the move, Trump inexplicably saw it as a threat to America, designed to thwart his ambition to grab Greenland.  So he slapped penal tariffs on the UK and seven other NATO allies. He always puts higher tariffs on America’s friends than its enemies   The Trump administration depicts Greenland as a defenceless frozen waste in danger of being picked off by NATO’s enemies. It’s a nonsense.  Greenland is a self-governing Danish protectorate. As such it is fully covered by NATO security guarantees, including the all-important Article 5 — which says an attack on one of us is an attack on all of us. Yet Trump still wants to grab Greenland, all part of his mission not just to be Imperial President of the USA but Imperial Overlord of the whole Western Hemisphere.  In an almost deranged message to Norway’s prime minister today he even suggests he’s keener than ever because Norway denied him the Nobel Peace Prize. There is no dealing with such nonsense. Europe and Canada will need to start preparing for a NATO without America, embracing all the extra defence spending that will entail.  Under Trump America is on the brink of becoming the enemy, not our most important ally. As a lifelong supporter of the US it is chilling to write and say such words.  The stakes could not be higher. As I speak there is despair in European capitals and delight in Moscow. That should tell you everything about the dangerous watershed we’ve now reached.
