If you’re being repeatedly spat at by a vile shoplifter the last thing you will be thinking about as an employee is Morrisons “ deter but don’t detain” policy towards thieves. The supermarket should rehire store longtime manager Sean Egan who I admire for tackling the scum who, as it emerges, convictions as long as your arm. Until they do, my advice is to avoid Morrisons ( recognise it’s difficult for some) until their CEO realises if he was obeing spat in the boardroom he too might raise his arms. Your money is important, do you really want to hand it to a company that wouldn’t support somebody being spat at. This is much more serious than an HR issue.

@GMB Evidently retail crime is costing £33mil yearly its not the stores that pick this cost up BUT YOU the customer they pass on this loss. Morrisions is by far the worse supermarket to work for makes even ASDA look amazing. Staff are not valued your a number they dont care

@Janela_X @anugent514 I can’t even listen to or read about this case. I’m sure after the trial has concluded the usual platitudes will be uttered - ‘measures will be put in place so this can never happen again’ But it will and we will be reading about the horrific death of another child soon.

Poor, poor child. Placed with these horrors for the last 4 months of his life. I hope they get jailed for life & get their real punishment from other prisoners. Not often I think that way but this is horrific.
