Israel is almost universally blamed for the "Israel-Palestine conflict." The "international community" almost never puts a share of the blame on Egypt and Jordan, but It should. Both attacked Israel in 1967, both were defeated, and Israel occupied the West Bank and Gaza.

IIRC, the incident resulted in further amendment of the NYS law to eliminate that problem for future cases.
