[BREAKING NEWS] ANC-Linked Beneficiaries Pocket Over R450 Million in Mafikeng Land Scandal‼️‼️‼️ The National Prosecuting Authority’s Asset Forfeiture Unit has successfully recovered land valued at R144 million that was unlawfully taken from the Mahikeng Local Municipality through fraud and corruption. It is alleged that ANC-linked individuals benefited to the tune of over R450 million from the scheme. After years of protracted legal battles, including four preservation orders, a final forfeiture order was granted on 31 October 2024, officially vesting the land in the state. The property, originally earmarked for low-cost housing, public schools, and community amenities was formally handed over to the municipality by Andy Mothibi, National Director of Public Prosecutions, on Wednesday, 18 March 2026. Speaking at the handover, Mothibi issued a stern warning: “Let this serve as a clear message to those who seek to enrich themselves through corruption and the abuse of public trust: illicitly acquired assets will not be enjoyed in peace. They will be pursued. They will be preserved. They will be forfeited.” The prosecution is currently in the process of reinstating the criminal case, reaffirming the NPA’s commitment to ensuring that those responsible are held accountable, alongside the recovery of stolen assets.

Tshwane Fuel Tender: A R500 million fuel tender awarded to Balimi Barui Trading (BBT) in 2019 by the City of Tshwane was set aside by the High Court, with allegations that the company paid R15-million to companies linked to Malema. A lot need to be looked at to all of them.
