Sissy Brown on FB My 17-year-old snuck out in the middle of the night and took our brand new car without permission. She has a driver’s license, but she is not on our insurance. She was texting and speeding and she ran a red light and slammed into another vehicle. The crash was BAD. The other driver is injured and my daughter panicked. Instead of staying, she left the scene and drove our damaged car home and parked it like nothing happened. But, she woke me up in a panic and confessed everything. I went to look at the car and I was thankful that she was ok! Before I could go off on her, the police showed up – already investigating it as a hit and run. They asked who was driving and I looked over at my daughter and she looked so scared, I took the blame and they took me to jail. I knew that I could possibly get a charge, but my insurance would cover the other car. My husband bailed me out, livid that I would do that, but I didn’t want my child getting in trouble and I pray this would be a learning lesson for my daughter. I don’t think I was wrong to do it; she’s young and has her whole life ahead of her. But my family thinks differently. Oh well, it can’t be changed now. #
