Today is one of the most important days in the recent history of 🇬🇪. The 12-year long dispute against the Russian Federation over the August 2008 war ended w/ 🇬🇪 winning the case at the #ECtHR. This victory was inevitable & belongs to each & every Georgian.

Today we celebrate 🇬🇪's National Flag Day. The 🇬🇪 flag inspires a patriotic spirit & symbolizes our history, values ​​& aspirations that we will always uphold. I believe that soon enough, the symbol of our statehood will be hoisted among the flags of the #EU member states.

@GovernmentGeo's strategy to impose precision-targeted restrictions has proved effective. We've slowed down the spread of #COVID19, which gives us a reason for cautious optimism. I urge our citizens to refrain from large gatherings on holidays to preserve this achievement.

On the 12th anniversary of the August 2008 War, we pay tribute to the soldiers & civilians who lost their lives defending our homeland. Russia must end its destabilizing actions & fulfill the 2008 Ceasefire Agreement. This war remains an open wound for each & every Georgian.
