@yindinji @adamboxer1 This 🥰 I say this too. I teach 3&4 year olds and this so important. All behaviour is communication

Behaviour always comes first. You cannot do anything until behaviour is sorted, and fundamentally the main driver of that change is leadership. Centralised systems, robust escalatory processes, consistent strategies and unwavering support. All necessary conditions. 👇🔥👇🔥

Before spending hours telling teachers what new found research that they need to know about for their teaching, make sure the behaviour they are being confronted with is manageable enough that they can think about more than just surviving another day.

@DoomScroling This is despicable and devastating. They are denying women medical care. What would a pro lifer say about this case? It could easily have been prevented and now a woman is dead. Terrifying 😔

Josseli Barnica, was denied the immediate emergency medical care she needed when she went to the hospital experiencing a miscarriage. The delay in care cost Josseli her life. After arriving at the hospital she was told that, “They had to wait until there was no heartbeat, It would be a crime to give her an abortion.” Josseli was forced to suffer for 40 hours before she was given necessary medical care, at which point she had developed an infection which she would not survive. Josseli died because she was denied prompt emergency medical care. She should have been given an immediate abortion, but instead she was denied such care because of the unethical laws which deny women life saving care in Texas. In case you missed it: As of yesterday, safe access zones around abortion clinics in England and Wales are in effect. This means women will no longer have to endure intimidation, harassment, or abuse when accessing care. humanists.uk/2024/10/31/abo…

@em_daltonn @gnickodonnell Hi Emily, after doing some digging I've found that these pictures are actually from Oxfordshire. There's some scaremongering going around on social media saying it's happening all over London and surrounding counties. I would check first x

@Strickomaster Exactly this. Lessons are disrupted by a minority of pupils, who take up all of teacher’s time. No one seems to care about the pupils who do as asked and want to achieve. Before anyone suggests this, disruptive behaviour is not an unmet need.

@Givemet38645955 @Strickomaster I'm not being argumentative, just curious. I work in early years and believe all behaviour is communication. Brains are still developing until around 25yrs. Surely if they are learning academically they are also still learning about behaving in socially acceptable ways? Teens are

What’s your favourite word that describes weather (doesn’t have to be cold weather)? I think mine’s “brisk”.

@homesal @tombennett71 Don't bring early years into this discussion, it's completely different. There isn't a 1 size fits all approach to discipline

@tombennett71 At the risk of a pile on. It's a pervasive idea. My son and daughter in law were visited at home with their 2yo by a HV and asked how he was disciplined. Told they should only tell him he 'made mummy sad' if he did something naughty like hit his little bro. 🤯 No consequence

I work in the behaviour sphere so much it still surprises even me when you come across people so unfamiliar with the process and reality of managing classrooms and schools, that they are shocked by the most basic of behaviour strategies, like ‘lists of prohibited behaviours with sanction tariffs.’ THE HORROR
