Yesterday, three of my children entered the Local round of @DriveChipPutt. All three set personal best overall scores, and Caroline and Kirke both won their divisions and are headed to the Sub-Regional round at @SentryWorld in a month!

My (absolutely non-professional) advice (that you should cross check with people who know what they're talking about): start with embarrassingly light weight. Get comfortable with that, focus on good form, build a habit, and steadily add weight. I literally started with hex bar deadlifts at ~225 last Nov/Dec, and the tiny increments add up.
English

@MRileyGolf @Fit_For_Golf Man this inspires me… I have been dealing with severe back pain for a few years and it’s really hindered my golf game. Praying that someday I find the secret sauce to get back to playing pain free and being able to play multiple days in a row again!
English

@Fit_For_Golf @ryanmouquegolf I second this motion. Start comically light. Add weight intelligently, steadily, without ego. I'm finding it amazing how many nagging body parts have stopped nagging as I've made progress in strength.
English

Time to embrace the barbell 👌
Get the deadlift up to 1.5-2x bodyweight and see how you feel ✅
PS - about 50% of 30 year olds show signs of disc degeneration in the lumbar spine. It may not even be a cause of your discomfort. You can have a perfect mri and have pain, and have a very concerning looking mri and have no pain. Pain and injury aren’t the same thing, and there is often no simple fix.
My anecdotal non medical professional advice is to focus on daily physical training, a combination of mobility, strength, and cardio, and see how your back trends.

@MidwestGolfJake Clearly, breathing UK air provokes him to speak of the ephemeral nature of the glory of golf.

Thoughtful Scottie is so much better than snippy Scottie. Maybe the key is to give him a really comfy chair?

Scottie Scheffler when asked about legacy and history in golf: "I have never once thought about how I'm going to be remembered... Like when I die, hey, Scottie won 4 majors and 20 tournaments and he won this much money. That has zero effect on me."

Rough look when for Bryson when he doesn't get the featured placement in the LIV promo for a major.

@homegymcoop You gotta don the glasses in the review videos when you get to the evaluation and summary. Makes it more official.

@DLTarqytek @acaseofthegolf1 Harder to ship when you sell them on eBay.

@MRileyGolf @acaseofthegolf1 Those might be more valuable than the Master's Gnomes.
English

@acaseofthegolf1 Officially, I cannot endorse this plan. 😶
As a side note, to enjoy with your breakfast, check out the Big Boy Graveyard, where the Big Boy statues from all those closed restaurants go for their final rest: chrisglass.com/2025/01/16/the…

@MRileyGolf So my adhd isn’t as bad a few drinks in. My brain is locked in on one thing at a time and not thinking of 13 other things.
Wait, should I be drunk all the time? 😏
English

@acaseofthegolf1 I just scanned through this thread, and my biggest takeaway: how in the world is it possible that semi-drunk Monday Q makes fewer typos than sober Monday Q?

I still think Scottie can do it if he has enough courage

@millerak42 @adamyounggolf Finished my session by (finally!) getting three in a row. That feel is in there, but I was having trouble finding it.
Might play with the nail drill tomorrow.
English

@MRileyGolf Use @adamyounggolf nail drill.
May not look pretty but you’ll have the path you want.
English

@acaseofthegolf1 @Case4Cleveland Probably the 2nd best hole in one this week, after @jamierkennedy. But it's close.
English

Holy shit.
@Case4Cleveland just skulled a 9-iron so bad, it nearly hit the ladies tee marker.
It hits 70 yards short, runs by the bunker. Over the green to the collar and slowly trickles down into the hole…
For his first hole in one.
