This will not be the last time Purdy & the @49ers play Mahomes & the @Chiefs in the Super Bowl. In 2026 they will play again & Purdy and the Niners will flip the script and get their revenge defeating Mahomes & KC to bring back the franchises 7th Lombardi trophy to the faithful!

@MRileyGolf @Fit_For_Golf Deadlifts (& any hinging at the hips exercises) freak me out. I had a bad flare up earlier this year that caused me to get stuck in a forward hinge position. Ever since, hinging lifts absolutely wreck my back. Your point about starting light is probably what I need to consider!

My (absolutely non-professional) advice (that you should cross check with people who know what they're talking about): start with embarrassingly light weight. Get comfortable with that, focus on good form, build a habit, and steadily add weight. I literally started with hex bar deadlifts at ~225 last Nov/Dec, and the tiny increments add up.

@Fit_For_Golf @MRileyGolf I couldn’t agree more! I try to get to the gym as close to daily as I can. My issue is knowing what to do/avoid once I’m there. I had a bad flare up early this year & still haven’t gained the confidence to get back to pushing myself. I think I need to just get back to a routine.

Fit For Golf - Mike Carroll
There is probably no secret sauce, but I recommend holistic physical training, especially weight lifting. People generally feel a lot better when they start getting more mobile, stronger, and fitter. Unfortunately most people take up an avoidance strategy. “My back hurts so I need to mind it and be careful, they do less, lose confidence, and get weaker”.

@MRileyGolf @Fit_For_Golf Man this inspires me… I have been dealing with severe back pain for a few years and it’s really hindered my golf game. Praying that someday I find the secret sauce to get back to playing pain free and being able to play multiple days in a row again!

@Fit_For_Golf Thanks, Mike. The benefits of getting stronger for golf—and life—have been fun to experience. To pick two simple ones: more ball speed with less effort, and *so much less* back pain from golf.

@4golfonline Random question. I really want to get a @FujikuraOnTour shaft fitting & have no clue where to go. I want to hit all the different driver shafts & figure out what fits me. Driver inconsistency is killing my game & I really think this could benefit me but don’t know where to start.

@LombardiHimself @gregcosell @gregcosell is the best in the business and one of the only opinions I put any stock in. I make it a point to listen to almost all of his hits with many different stations around the NFL. Completely unbiased and tells it how it is.

“The team didn’t make a mistake. All the team did is evaluate a player differently than you did. Nothing’s a mistake right now. This is how the Niners evaluated De’Zhaun Stribling.” Over 40 minutes on the 49ers with Greg Cosell:

@JSiAirborne @LombardiHimself Did you do the golden getaway? If so, any chance you can DM me and let me know some details. I was at CVR while this was going on and when we booked had no clue. But after getting a first hand look, I am very interested.

@Coach_Yac @nineralex My wife and I were lucky enough to book a getaway at this resort this week without having a clue the @49ersFoundation was running this event the same week. Needless to say we got a very nice bonus seeing many current and former @49ers legends up close and personal!!

@Coach_Yac It’s time for Vitello to stop being buddies with the guys and drop the hammer a bit. He needs to sit for a game or two. They are all too worried to hurt his feelings and have another Boston situation but anyone else in the lineup would be sat down if they had the same slump.

Mike Krukow on Rafael Devers’ slump: “There’s one guy in the Giants lineup that pitchers don’t respect right now and that’s Devers. He has swung through so many fastballs that are out over the plate— belt high, and he’s swinging through them. It’s hard to explain. He hasn’t been able to correct it and we thought he was coming out of it, as he had a couple of good opposite field at bats last home stand. One of which was against Shohei Ohtani. We thought he was coming out of it, but he’s going to have to start hitting a lot of those fastballs. One good thing is when everyone is throwing fastballs by you, and they’re not respecting you, you know what’s coming. It’s not like you have to think about a lot of different speeds or locations. Just gear up and try and beat the fastball. It’s everybody. Even guys who don’t have big fastballs are throwing fastballs at him. That has to change. That’s one of the huge keys [for the lineup to get going] him getting back to the respect that he’s always had.” via: @KNBR

@starwarsfan2398 @Clevertrevor_ @LombardiHimself Yes I wasn’t saying we don’t have one. I think Lenoir is a very solid player. I’m just saying the front office is going to draft DL early because they feel a consistent pass rush can make up for lack of high end talent in the secondary. Then they typically take CB’s later ie DMO.

@Clevertrevor_ @LombardiHimself If you can generate consistent pressure, the secondary becomes less relevant. That’s how this regime has always gone about building the defense. But having a true lockdown corner or great deep cover safety sure would be nice… good offenses will take advantage.

“This team [49ers] is going to be great. There’s no question about it. There’s not even that much to talk about cause if they’re healthy, even if they’re not super healthy, they’re gonna be good. Mike Evans coming in… he’s a red zone piece. A big body receiver who can do everything. They’re the team to be talking about in the NFC.” — @isaacrochell91 expects big things from the 49ers in 2026 🎥: @gmfb

@sportslarryk Based off how the 49ers have gone about the offseason thus far, I will be shocked if they don’t pick a D-lineman with their first pick. Only other thing I could see is a WR or OT depending on the Trent Williams situation.

@49ersSpin One look at Jerry’s Pro Football Reference page from his age 32 season to his age 40 season and you know he ain’t lying!!! Absolutely insane. A whole career worth of production from age 32 on. Let alone age 23-31 seasons 🤣🤣

'At 32, I felt like I was like a rookie.' Is a crazy thing to say but it's even crazier cause he ain't lying
OurSF49ers@OurSf49ers

Jerry Rice on the #49ers adding Mike Evans: "What happened yesterday with Mike Evans is big. It's big—I'm serious—because now, we actually got this guy. He's that threat that opposing teams are gonna have to pay attention to. At 32, I felt like I was like a rookie. This guy's still got a lot of fire, and what he brings to that locker room, too—the experience. To see this guy work every day, his preparation, these younger guys are gonna be able to witness that. You can't even put a price on that. You can tell, I am really fired up right now. Him and Brock, they're gonna have to work together to build that chemistry. But I think he has all the tools, and players are gonna sit back and watch this potential Hall of Famer go to work." Via: @957thegame || @49erswebzone

@greg0silver Totally agree. You’re getting a proven #1 WR. Sure he’s maybe on the back end of his career but I still think he has a lot left in the tank. A two year deal would be perfect IMO. We’ll see!! Some team will probably throw the bag at him…

There are potentially seven tackles worthy of being selected in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. The 49ers acquired Trent Williams six seasons ago from Washington for third- and fifth-round draft picks. What could they get for him now?
Ian Rapoport@RapSheet

The #49ers are now said to be open to trading Pro Bowl LT Trent Williams, sources say, if the situation doesn’t get resolved. A resolution has not been easy and Williams is frustrated with the process. He’s due $32M in salary with a $38M+ cap number.
