I’m told that Rogers and others have now flipped the switch and the Ryder Cup is on.

Oh boy. Someone has messed up Ryder Cup coverage in Canada. If you’re on Bell, no problem — you can watch on Golf Channel. But Rogers and Telus are showing a Jack Nicklaus documentary. Understandably, folks are not happy.

@KVanValkenburg This was a joy to listen to. As a Golf addict Dad with two young daughters who’ve expressed very little interest in golf, you’ve inspired me to keep bringing them out!

@LouStagner I have to disagree, Static loft can be very misleading. The relationship between dynamic loft and CG is what matters. Two clubs with the same static loft can create very different results.

From the beginning of time manufacturers should have been stamping the loft on the bottom of each iron.

@LouStagner This is great Lou! I'm on a similar journey, working with a coach for 18 months. Curious was there anything specific that lead to things clicking on course? I'm at the point where things are grooved pretty well in practice, but struggling to bring the changes on course.

Last year my handicap index improved 5.7 shots in 10 weeks. ▶️Index on 7/3/22 = 8.1 ▶️index on 9/10/22 = 2.4 How did I improve so "quickly"? IT WAS A JOURNEY It may look like I improved quickly, but this journey started in December of 2021. That's when I started working with @jasongiesbrecht. As you can see, things got worse before they got better. PERSERVERANCE I was making fundamental changes to my swing. There were some dark days. Changing a movement pattern is hard. Some days it felt like I was taking 2 steps forward and 37 steps back. I thought about switching to lefty a few times! Jason stressed: "Stick with the process. Don't quit. You are getting close." IT CLICKED Things finally started translating to the course. That was one of the toughest part to all the work. When practicing, things were really starting to groove. The moment I stepped on the course, it was a train wreck. Being patient and continuing to work through that was KEY. Things eventually started to change. It started to click on the course. The things that were working on the range were now translating to the course. This was EXCITING! Stick with the process. This is where many fail. They take 1 or 2 lessons and expect immediate results. Major improvement is a result of consistent effort over time. There are no short cuts. MY SIMPLE PLAN 1. Work with a coach! 2. "Short" club 3. Rope 4. Positions 5. Feedback 6. Reps SHORT CLUB I keep this short club in the house. I swing it throughout the day. A couple minutes here. A couple minutes there. I focus on exaggerated feels. I swing VERY slowly. This has been a HUGE help. ROPE Jason had me swinging a rope. A lot. This is an amazing drill. It helped A TON - Kinematic Sequence, tempo, etc.. Link to rope drill: youtube.com/watch?v=0hyrco… SWING "POSITIONS" My new swing "looks" SIGNIFICANTLY different than it used to. I never once worked on swing positions. I worked on feels. While I'd love a "pretty" swing, I only care that it is functional. You should too. FEEDBACK I used my launch monitor for all the drills. I looked at vertical & horizontal launch, path, AOA, etc... I would play around with the #'s. Trying to shift them up/down/left/right. I would guess the # before I saw what it was. For example, let's say I was working on trajectory. I would take my 60 degree wedge and try to launch it at 30 degrees. Before I would see the actual launch angle, I would guess what it was - and track my guess. Then I would try to hit the next swing at 33 degrees. Guess what it was. Then 27 degrees. etc... This approach was TRANSFORMATIONAL. REPS No matter what, I got my reps in. Even days where I had almost no time, I always found a way to spend 5-10 minutes. These little chunks add up. My instructor gave me a clear plan on what to do. I followed that plan no matter what. This is CRITICAL! YOU CAN DO IT TOO If you are looking to make big changes and improve your game. You can get there. Find a good coach, and get a good plan. Stay with that coach for more than one lesson!!! And most important - stick with it. Changes will NOT happen overnight. You WILL get frustrated. You just need to keep grinding and all that work WILL pay off.

@shkeengolf 5 handicap, ball striking stronger part of my game. Tendency to hit thin shots and over draws.

Alright gang, y’all know what time it is.. For the next 25-30 mins, send in your swings and I’ll tell you what’s up. Make sure you’re following me & give me details about your game. I need a proper camera angle (reference below) if you’d like feedback. Cheers!

Heard a mississauga man interviewed today in reaction to Ford cutting gas tax; “I spend $200 a week filling my s.u.v to drive to work downtown [toronto]. It used to be $20 a fill, now its already at 100 and it's not even full.”

I'm not opposed to #DaylightSavingTime, I actually think we should do a 2 hour change. Switch things up a little and keep people on their toes.
