Among the many tools in the disposal of #Somalia to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity is the ability to deny visas to anyone entering our territory. Moreover, no international or local airline dares to violate that policy. And if aggressors charter a private jet, they still have to obtain landing permission from aviation authorities in #Mogadishu.

الخارجية: ندعم وحدة وسلامة وسيادة الصومال، ونرفض الاعتراف الإسرائيلي بصومالي لاند. تؤكد وزارة الخارجية والمغتربين لدولة فلسطين على دعمها المطلق لوحدة الصومال وسيادته واستقلاله السياسي، بما يضمن لشعب الصومال الشقيق حقه في العيش الكريم والامن والاستقرار، اتساقا مع القانون الدولي قرارات الاجماع العربي والدولي، وقرارات منظمة التعاون الإسلامي وتعبر عن رفضها وادانتها لاعتراف إسرائيل، سلطة الاحتلال غير الشرعي، بإقليم صومالي لاند، ورفضها لأي خطوات تدعم الانفصال او تضفي شرعية عليه، أو تمس بسيادة الصومال ووحدته، وتقوض استقراره. تؤكد الوزارة ان هذا الاعتراف المرفوض يعتبر جزءا من محاولات إسرائيل، بوصفها قوة استعمارية تعمل على زعزعة الامن والسلم الدوليين، وخاصة الامن الإقليمي والعربي، والتي تصر على تهديد المنطقة وابقائها في حالة من عدم الاستقرار، في مخالفة واضحة للقانون الدولي ولميثاق الأمم المتحدة والقواعد الامرة في ضرورة احترام وحدة وسيادة الدول وسلامة أراضيها. تذكر وزارة الخارجية والمغتربين أن إسرائيل كانت قد استخدمت اسم صومالي لاند كوجهة لتهجير ابناء شعبنا الفلسطيني وخاصة من قطاع غزة. وعليه تؤكد دولة فلسطين رفضها التام للمخططات الإسرائيلية للتهجير القسري لشعبنا، او تحت أي مسميات أخرى، وتعتبره خطاًَ أحمراً، وتحذر من تساوق البعض مع هذه الطروحات المرفوضة.

As someone who has personally experienced this individual’s online defamation, I can attest to the profound ignorance he consistently displays regarding our local context and societal issues. His lack of even a basic understanding of people’s right to express their opinions and participating in political discourses and debates in media platforms such as X, has created unnecessary confusion, which he takes advantage of and likes to portray it as attack on our brotherly Türkiye interests in #Somalia. Time and again, he takes ordinary, non-political issues and inflates them into provocative narratives. A clear example is the current situation where a customer simply raised a legitimate concern about mistreatment by Turkish Airlines, yet Umut has attempted to twist it into something entirely different, a distortion that harms the long-standing and friendly relations between our two countries. It's my humble view that his reckless spread of misinformation, hatred, and cyberbullying is neither condoned nor reflective of the values of the Turkish people or the Government of Türkiye.

Did this "landmark agreement" actually lift visa requirements to make travel visa-free for ordinary citizens, as expected from an EAC member?Or is it just creating another bureaucratic checkpoint that adds to the cost of travel, similar to the visa/ETA issues we've seen w/ kenya?

Most Somali politicians are in it solely for quick riches and fame. I wonder if they even feel any pain about the country’s current situation or the looming risk of its complete disintegration. Personal interests have overshadowed any sense of national duty or responsibility.

The doomsayers betting on Somalia’s collapse and an Al-Shabab takeover are delusional. Mogadishu is in one of its safest eras, and life here goes on. Anyone imagining an Afghanistan-style fall is chasing a fantasy, not reality.
