@Andrew___Baker Proteins and drug molecules are like locks and keys. Knowing the right shape of the lock makes easier finding the "right" key that can bind to it and achieve a therapeutic effect

Check this out!! We are careful in drawing the line between what GenAI is good vs not when it comes to generate new social science theory. For us, LLMs are a *complement* to researchers with good theories (not a substitute [yet!]). Send us your thoughts and comments!!

In Renaissance Italy, mathematicians could challenge each other to math duels, where participants exchanged problems to solve. The one who solved most problems could gain the university position and income of the other participant.

In the 16th century, an Italian mathematician solved a 2,000-year-old math problem, laying the foundation for modern algebra. However, he kept it secret until his death. WHY? 🧵 on math duels among academics in Renaissance Italy, the economics of secrecy, and imaginary numbers.
