Solana's first phone was crowned Worst Smartphone of the Year by MKBHD in 2023. "We might have earned that in some respects." But Seeker launched with 800+ crypto-native apps, a hardware wallet baked into the OS, and signing transactions that feel like Apple Pay - not a constant ping-pong between apps. Why did mobile explode in web2? Cloud got cheap. Your phone in your pocket could do enough - and AWS handled everything else. It worked because the backend infrastructure scaled. Solana is that backend for crypto mobile. "It can support cheap transactions. It can support lots of transactions." "If crypto and mobile are going to live together, it has to happen on Solana." Apple and Google's app store process is one of the most opaque systems in tech. Submit. Wait. Get rejected. Figure out why. Resubmit. Hope someone finds your app. "There's all these steps that are super opaque and totally controlled by one party." "Those are the types of problems that our whole industry (crypto) should be trying to solve." Solana Mobile is building decentralized app approvals and community curation. i don't believe every company will hire / train AI resources in house to manage all agentic workloads. when every f500 company needed a better mobile app in 2015, they didn't build mobile expertise; they leased it. they started with boutique firms and eventually transitioned to the GSIs until the tech was so commoditized and training so common that they could staff up in house nearly 15 years after mobile first took off. SMBs and local businesses mostly missed out. how shitty is your neighborhood coffee shop's app, even still? does your electrician have an app? most of the time these companies just plug-in to some white label garbage, if they do anything. AI adoption for business is so obviously going to follow this curve. consulting will be critical for the good stuff. off-the-shelf white label products will be critical for the bad stuff. professional services is an ugly business but it is inevitable. i'm bearish that the big stalwart consulting companies can code switch quickly enough to be effective. plus nobody likes working with accenture. the next crop of disruptive service co's will be boutique, AI-first, and lean. they aren't pivoting from "digital transformation" or "big data" or something that already exists. they'll start from the ground up. it may take a little, and their margins will be ugly, but I'd bet they outlive many of the AI startups trying to tackle these workloads through product rather than service.
