Parkweg, Gauteng, Bike Squad police officers arrested a foreign national during patrol after finding khat plants worth about R15,000 in his possession. A second suspect was later arrested at the police station when he arrived to check on the first suspect, carrying a bag containing more of the same substance.

My first text interview in 5 years reveals what it costs to cover Africa accurately - the criticism, and the threats. It’s still a privilege to tell these stories. Thank you cjr.org/the-interview/…

@JackiePhamotse The SIU has a hidden agenda to expose black owned businesses for corruption in order for the government to expunge bbbee. Meanwhile white owned companies have been looting billions from the state for decades and nothing is being said about that.

My people let’s have a quick conversation. I have noticed something; after all this corruption and the money is flowing why do you just buy cars? Like seriously, what’s the psychology behind this type of corruption. You took all that money just to buy cars? Holidays and clothes? That’s all you did?

[POLICE OFFICERS SMOKING IN PUBLIC] All police officers dressed in police uniform are not permitted to smoke in public, including while inside police vehicles or at Community Service Centres (CSCs). The misconception that police officers may smoke in public provided they are not wearing headgear (caps or hats) is INCORRECT. They may only smoke in designated smoking areas, and such areas must not expose them to public view. This is not discretionary, but is guided by existing internal prescripts governing discipline, professionalism and conduct within the Service. In particular, Standing Order (General) 91 and the SAPS Dress Order clearly provide that members may not eat, drink or smoke in public while dressed in uniform. The prohibition is further reinforced by the SAPS Discipline Regulations, 2016, which require members to maintain conduct that upholds the image, discipline and efficiency of the Service at all times. Conduct that undermines these standards may amount to misconduct and can result in disciplinary action.

Why is it that when women dress in revealing ways for cultural or traditional purposes, it’s respected and protected, but when the same level of exposure happens in spaces like clubs or everyday public life, it’s suddenly seen as inappropriate or disrespectful?

@thomasmlambo Every kg counts. Carmakers are ditching spare tyres. Cuts costs (built into pricing). Saves space and improves fuel efficiency. Many countries already drive without them. SA could be next.

Another pandemic is vehicle manufacturers not adding spare tyres to these newer cars. What do you mean you only get a tyre repair kit..

ANC SECRETARY GENERAL | Fikile Mbalula
The main message we are being told here by the racist Afriforum is that if we dare stand up for black people, dare stand up for the marginalised and dare stand up for our generational mission we will be targeted. When I fought for Julius to succeed me as ANCYL President we knew that the road ahead was treacherous and that the grandchildren of apartheid would never rest in their targeting of the Freedom in our lifetime Generation. This sentence is too harsh and my thoughts are with my brother Julius. Silamulele Peter Mokaba Silamulele.
