The sum will not add up. It is madness to rack our brains over this sum. But there is nothing else we can do except try to add up this sum.

@LowLifeInk1 @AmadeusBolshev you never did respond to the fact that none of the original four quotes you posted were *moral endorsements* of slavery, they were simply (correct!) observations that the industrial economy was reliant upon slavery.

@LowLifeInk1 @AmadeusBolshev your response to "this cannot be read as his straightforward belief, he's arguing against proudhon here" was "i already told you we're talking about proudhon dummy", which doesn't get you out of the basic bind of all your quotes being blatantly misleading and out of context.

@LowLifeInk1 @AmadeusBolshev "this guy supported slavery, look at this quote." "doesn't seem like an endorsement" "try looking it up!" "yeah this passage is him stepping into someone else's shoes to suggest that their 'good/bad' system is absurd, he doesn't believe this" "so you used the passage i gave you?"

@LowLifeInk1 @AmadeusBolshev This is basically the same problem you’re having with “On the Jewish Question” of course, you’re assuming that everything Marx says is some sort of standalone scripture instead of existing in the context of an argument

@LowLifeInk1 @AmadeusBolshev okay, i looked it up. he’s mocking Proudhon’s formulation of dialectics by saying “he would argue that slavery has benefits so we should work to preserve the good and get rid of the bad, which is absurd” well that was easy

@LowLifeInk1 @The_Holy_Sea @AmadeusBolshev Okay, could you explain what the thrust of Marx’s argument is? I’m sure you’ve actually read the full essay, but some people might think that the fact that you’re posting a bunch of identical quote images means you just googled “controversial Marx quotes”

@nise_yoshimi (Obvious caveat is “all states have people in ‘enemy groups’ that they destroy based on probable threat instead of their own actions, see both world wars” but i think it’s fair to say that the USSR and fascists were uniquely open about treating people as elements of a category)

@nise_yoshimi there’s a good bit in Grossman’s Life and Fate where a physicist muses that fascism and Soviet communism are the ideologies of the quantum era. ideologies that fully embrace the idea that individual actions are unknowable, but people in aggregate can be predicted/understood.

@SkyeLongBlue @rowanfornow like 20% of people seem to think that there’s no such thing as a justified involuntary obligation. either you signed a piece of paper saying “society can coerce me in exactly this way” or nobody’s allowed to touch you.

@haravayin_hogh What I don't get when I read retards like you, is how the fuck in the world where machiavelli is one of the most sold authors of all time people still believe in bs like popular sovereignty and "rule of da people", you're utterly contained by the powers that be, good goy

To really put things in perspective, Putin/UR suffered a bigger popularity drop from his pension-reform than he did from the disastrous opening months of the Ukraine War. Russia was (again) ahead of the West in combining the worst aspects of popular democracy & authoritarianism.
L🖥️@nothofagusfan53

Blackpill on the prospects of pension reform ever happening: even in RUSSIA when they tried, it caused a backlash so strong it made opposition almost win in places that had blatant ballot stuffing & no democracy at all and the govt ultimately walked it back

@AmadeusBolshev Trying to declare moral equivalence to a man who had nothing to do with your movement. It’s what we call stealing aura. Besides if you actually read Karl Marx’s work, he inadvertently supported slavery. Mind you, it was already outlawed in Germany almost 2 decades before this.

@The_Holy_Sea @AmadeusBolshev I’m sorry, I didn’t write Poverty of Philosophy and I don’t have to retroactively defend shitty positions. Let’s look at this one about him talking about Jews.

@HandsOffDPRK @JohnOakman4 @SofiaD_APL (to be clear, they didn’t actually “fail to predict it” - they just decided that winning a war with the peasantry was worth a bit of famine, which makes this whole “actually the ~~~kulaks~~~ did it” thing absurd)

@HandsOffDPRK @JohnOakman4 @SofiaD_APL so the peasant who makes the rational decision to slaughter and eat his livestock instead of giving it away for nothing is causing famine, but the planners who failed to predict massive peasant resistance despite all the evidence of literally a few years earlier are blameless? 👍

I actually took quite a lot of convincing that Stalin did nothing wrong. I asked for receipts on every single issue well into my second year in the APL. Hell, I'm still critical of Grover Furr's methodologies, although he ends up being right 90% of the time just cause he (cont)

@HandsOffDPRK @JohnOakman4 @SofiaD_APL never understood why this is supposed to be exonerating, even if you do accept that it was the main cause of hunger. Like saying “war communism wasn’t bad, the peasants just stopped sowing” Isn’t resistance to collectivization an outcome of collectivization? A foreseeable one?

When I read the Odyssey as an annoying know-it-all teen, I was surprised to learn that the whole thing hinges on Poseidon being absent from guard because he's chilling in Ethiopia - on the first pages of this Very Important Western Text there's Africa

@TheCineprism greatest ? its dumb as hell. 1 if there were that many cops in gotham, they wouldnt have high crime rate. 2- the wingsuit design was so corny it had to be full cgi cos it made no practice sense how it would cover his cape.3- he should be dead from that chute yank

@cristi4nov4lli @uhshanti well no that isn’t what the writer’s doing here, the juxtaposition of the mansion and the homeless person is being presented as a visible example of gross economic inequality. that’s why it’s packaged with a wealth tax.

@uhshanti it's also telling the juxtaposition with a "$10 million house". because that's what makes them mad. if they were sleeping in a slum it'd be "natural order of things". they cannot stand they share the same view, undeserved
