Over my lifetime I've managed to step over a threshold into a realm unknown to other human beings (and previously to myself). But I'm not sure how many other people will want to hear about it. In this case, the truth is taboo. tinyurl.com/373h9su7

@TheTonyColorado My book Telenothians (3 volumes, ~1,600 pages) collects, and usually quotes the relevant passages from ~1,500 separate reports about human-animal crosses. tinyurl.com/75cx23vv The reality of hybridization is far, far away from what most people imagine about hybridization.

@Macroevo Amazing. Do intergeneric crosses every occur in the homo genus?

The Gelada (Theropithecus gelada), shown at left, and the Hamadryas Baboon (Papio hamadryas), at right, have produced fertile hybrids in captivity. That's an intergeneric cross. Natural hybrids occur in Ethiopia. Find documenting citations here: tinyurl.com/3dhdnerr

In 1907, the Awards Committee of the Foreign Bird Club (England) granted a breeding certificate to James Hume for crossing Virginian and Red-crested cardinals, an interfamilial hybrid (Cardinalidae × Thraupidae). Bird Notes, vol. 6, 1907-1908, p. 222. tinyurl.com/y8fyuq6b

An ostensible stillborn dog-cow hybrid birthed by a cow; note presence of both hooves and a puppy-like head. More than a hundred additional cases in my new book Telenothians (tinyurl.com/75cx23vv).

@nullbotto @anabology @AbudBakri Might be worthwhile. But always keep in mind that any work the birds do themselves is work that you don't have to do. It's not unusual for a sexually active rooster to ejaculate 40 times a day (14,600 times a year). So, from a flock of female quail, you might get 30 hybrids/yr

Supplementing thyroid may be good for melanoma. TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) also stimulates melanoma growth, as well as other cancers. Supplementing thyroid can push your TSH to 0, preventing growth of the cancer.

@nullbotto @anabology @AbudBakri Any process where you have to do individual inseminations or gland transfers will be labor intensive. Let the birds work for you. As a first step, imprint bantam cocks and let them loose in large flocks of female quail. That'll yield large numbers of hybrids with little work.

@Macroevo @anabology @AbudBakri What I'm wondering is how much of that is sex organs not working right, vs other glands that could be swapped out early in development. I know a chicken guy, I'll ask him about this.

@nullbotto @anabology @AbudBakri Instead of AI, it would be easier to produce cross-imprinted males, bantam roosters imprinted on (raised by) quail. That way they'd do all the work of insemination for you. The reverse cross (quail cock x domestic hen) doesn't work, or works only at a far lower rate.
