Today's Prayer ✝️ Father, thank You for storing up blessings for me, even the ones I cannot yet see. Thank You for Your faithfulness, Your provision, and Your perfect timing in every area of my life. I choose to honor You, to bless Your name, and to live in a way that reflects Your goodness and love. Strengthen my heart to trust You fully, even when I don’t understand the process. I put my faith and my hope completely in You, knowing that You are a God who keeps His promises. Amen.

Joburg doesn’t have a water consumption problem. It has a water loss problem. Up to 46% of the city’s treated drinking water never reaches a tap. It is lost to leaks, burst pipes and failing infrastructure. Time to close the ANC’s taps!
Jack Bloom@JackBloomDA

Another day and another massive water leak in Joburg, this is in St David Road Upper Houghton. Our last hope to fix this broken city is to elect Helen Zille as Mayor in November!

R80 BILLION wasted on failed bus rapid transit systems — now the government is pulling the plug. After more than 20 years and over R80 billion spent, the ANC government has admitted the Integrated Public Transport Network (including BRT projects) has failed dismally. Commuters rejected it only 152,000 daily users nationwide compared to 8 million who use minibus taxis. Cities are now facing 30% budget cuts and scrambling for solutions. This is classic ANC governance: billions thrown away on projects that don’t work, while residents still struggle with unreliable and unsafe public transport. The DA has consistently warned against this wasteful approach. Where we govern, we deliver practical, people-centred solutions, not expensive white elephants. South Africans deserve better than R80 billion down the drain. #DAatWork #RescueSA #DA_GPL #FixPublicTransport #StopTheWaste #VoteDA2026 Read more: sundaytimes.timeslive.co.za/news/2026-05-0…

.@CityPowerJhb It would be even clearer if you clarify what you mean by high-, medium- and low-voltage outages. Explain in simple language, please; we aren’t electricians or engineers. @RenateCllrW90 @CrumRegionB

City Power committed to fixing this substation within a year, after it caught fire in 2023. Residents served by this substation have sent us countless messages and emails about recurring outages. Our message remains the same: give the DA a majority in council so that we can invest in infrastructure, improve maintenance and keep your lights ON!💡 #BelieveInJoburg #Zille4Mayor

R27 million wasted on a road that is now worse than before! In 2024, just before the elections, the ANC-led government spent over R27 million to “upgrade” the road in Muvhango. Today, that same road is in a worse condition, full of potholes, disintegrating, and dangerous for residents. This is not just poor workmanship. It is a blatant failure of governance, accountability, and the responsible use of public money. DA Emfuleni Mayoral Candidate, Kingsol Chabalala MPL, says: “Residents were promised better infrastructure, but they were left with total failure. The people of Emfuleni deserve better than projects that collapse within months.” The DA will ensure every rand is properly managed, quality is enforced, and infrastructure actually lasts. Vote for real change. Vote DA. #LetsFixEmfuleni #DAatWork #RescueSA #DA_GPL #VoteDA2026 YouTube: youtube.com/shorts/uqZQchS…

“…but this is a DA ward and yet nothing works.” DA councillors like Mr de Roche work tirelessly to fight for their communities from the opposition benches. They ensure issues are logged, escalated and followed up when government is not responsive. But without the DA in executive power, our councillors cannot move the needle fast enough. On 4 November you have the chance to give us a majority in council, so that we don’t have to shout from outside the front door but can occupy the offices where decisions are made and deliver real change! 🗳️🇿🇦 #BelieveInJoburg #Zille4Mayor

🚨 Joburg MMC Thapelo Amad under criminal investigation over alleged firearm discharge in a public area @Our_DA has formally written to the Mayor demanding his immediate removal while investigations unfold. This isn’t a minor issue - an MMC for Community Development is meant to build safe, stable communities. Allegations of reckless firearm use directly undermine that mandate and public trust. The Mayor has full legal authority to act under Section 60. The question is whether he will. Keeping Amad in office sends one message: misconduct is tolerated at the top. Johannesburg residents deserve leadership that protects their safety - not leaders who put it at risk. #Johannesburg #Accountability #PublicSafety #LocalGovernment #Leadership #RuleOfLaw @MYANC

The suspects will be facing charges of corruption, extortion and trespassing. It is reported that a complaint was received on the 22 April 2026 afternoon that three suspects arrived at a warehouse in Crown Mines followed by six members in Metro and indicated that they want to search the warehouse. Upon searching, they found a box of a colour hair dye and one of the officers indicated that it has expired and threatened the complainant with arrest unless he paid money. The complainant went to the police station but was not assisted. As he left the police station, he saw the minibus parked at the court. As he approached the minibus, they sped off. The following day, the matter was reported to Vaal Serious Corruption Investigation.
