A few weeks ago, I found a kitten in the woods. We naturally took her in and have slowly introduced her to our other cats. One of our two year old in/out males has bonded with her. This was today. I’ve seen a lot of cat in my 60+ years but this was a first.

@dook_of_oox @evornithology Such a lovely, streamlined bird. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a banded one. Going to my old neighborhood tonight for a dog walk client. We always go by my old house and watch “my” swifts circling the chimney at dusk.

I very rarely catch Chimney Swifts when I’m netting, so getting a recapture today was a shocker. @evornithology

When I made this post, I truly believed it was a long shot. Living in Arkansas, we’re not always able to make the trip to Arlington National Cemetery every Memorial Day, and there’s always a little guilt that comes with that. But seeing complete strangers offer to visit Alan, leave flowers, take photos, and say his name when we can’t be there ourselves has honestly overwhelmed me in the best way possible. This comment section restored a little piece of my faith in humanity today. I’ve always been proud to be an American, but tonight I’m even prouder knowing there are still so many people who refuse to let our fallen be forgotten. 🇺🇸

The evaporation of critical thinking among the American people is truly shocking. How our nation substituted going to the library and reading books, valuing our Western traditions going back to Plato and Aristotle and replacing it all with mediocre conspiracy InfoWars, Joe Rogan podcasts, or Fox News evening Murdoch media so obviously intended to create a new generation of billionaires at their expense, I mean I get it, but I never thought the American people could be this gullible or susceptible

@AlisaVarney I’ve successfully grown them before, but it’s been a long time. They aren’t crazy about the climate where I live. A little too hot and humid for a little too long … the same way I feel about it! 🌻

End of shift. It's late May in southwest Iowa and I'm wearing a longjohns shirt and a flannel and have been shivering all day. Who do I talk to about this? Completely unacceptable.
