@MattisRedacted I am going to give presumption of innocence, but I just can't get why they're doing this. Do they not have the self awareness to realize these were literally the same smears they dragged Trump through the mud over. I was willing to presume innocence there, I will here too.

@KirscheVerstahl @WifuWarheads I was considering Tennessee but I wanted to be in a more "European" coded state, not particularly into southern aesthetics. So I've been considering Idaho and NH. NH seems too cold and snowy though, and it's not as solidly red it seems? I could be wrong.

I'm thinking about which state would be the best for me to move to 🤔 My criteria right now are who has cheap land, the best veterans' benefits, and has the most gun-friendly laws. Texas and Alaska look really appealing 🤔

@MattisRedacted I didn't vote for the regime of Lindsay Graham and Mark Levin in 2024. I'm not Kentuckyan but I hope Massie wins because if he wasn't, well Aydin Paladin is right about Democracy.

@kindaveryfurry @roseromaunt Lovecraft isn't a monolith, a lot of his more lowbrow horror had racial elements because they were more anthropocentric His best horror like Colour out of Space or Haunter in the Dark have no racism in it because it's raw horror disinterested in human issues.

@QuetzalPhoenix 1. Production bottlenecks from the artistic rentseeking class 2. It's mostly an American phenomenon because rooted in Puritan strains of protestantism. Consider Narnia, the Exorcist, and Lord of the Rings were written by Catholics and an Episcopalian.

@QuetzalPhoenix Yes and when the culture of one part of the state dominates the rest and makes the rest drag down with them, decentralization works. You used an example of a high time preference society. A low time preference is better by decentralizing, like Switzerland.

@SwitchAtoll @AdamUnderstood @ChristianHeiens The best solution is shifting to the Swedish pension model which has no massive unfunded obligations (in fact they're at a surplus apparently), but fundamentally giving the state power over pensions at all is a bad idea and the founding fathers would be horrified by such an idea.

Liberalism contains the seeds of its own destruction through its elevation of individual autonomy above everything else. What began centuries ago as a push for greater individual rights eventually lead to the collapse of any shared social order, and this happened because the religious framework underpinning those original individual rights eventually disintegrated. And without a higher guiding principle, society succumbed to radical atomization and cultural anarchy. “Rights” hyperinflated into total individual self-actualization, even at the cost of both the individual himself or the society he lives in. This is what things like transgenderism and feminism ultimately are. One destroys the individual by convincing him he can become a woman, while the other destroys society by convincing a woman that murdering her own babies is an act of liberation. In short, everyone has became their own God. And as a result, every political struggle is now a theomachy.

He wasn’t even a bad guy or anything. She was just massively in debt because she was bad at House flipping so she took out life insurance policies on him. And then, after killing him with fentanyl, she was googling luxury prisons The first time she tried to kill him with fentanyl he got sick and was fine. And then she tried three weeks later Just to write a book and use her three sons as props to sell it

@AdamUnderstood @ChristianHeiens Communism cannot work due to the economic calculation problem. Even high IQ East Germans couldn't get it to work "Libertarianism" cannot work because they it believe in tabula rasa which is a fallacious idea; many still think the Enlightenment was about liberty (it wasn't)

@ChristianHeiens Libertarianism and communism are more similar than they may wish to admit. Both require an incredibly homogeneous population with a common societal/shared ethic Both are essentially incompatible with subsaharans Both are fantasies with no successful real-world application

@Father_McCarthy @ChristianHeiens 1 trillion, cool, not gonna fix anything Social security and Medicare are the issue, they always will be. We've reached a point where social security + Medicare yearly are higher than actual tax revenues. They're a national albatross. 200-300 billion? Vs 30 trillion?

@ChristianHeiens It is not near as difficult as you think. You can easily cut about 1 trillion to government programs while still keep entitlements in tact to a degree. Increase tarrifs to 15-20%, thats another 200-300 billion there. AI revolution will bring huge growth to US ecomony.

Let me give you all a word of advice. Do not do this unless you really enjoy losing money in real terms. We have entered an era where bonds are for suckers. No one should be giving the government a loan because its entire objective in the near future will be to engineer a way for inflation to eat away at the debt faster than the interest it'll be paying you.

The US Gov is selling 30 year bonds at 5%. Lifehack - Take 50M cash and buy bonds, thats 2.5M a year for zero work. Thats 208k a month. Enough to cover basic expenses like security team and cigars. Then you just need another 500k a month to have a good life. You're welcome.

@windydanchou I remembered in my 2020 Hololive fan days I learned about Aloe and felt bad for her and how I never got to see her. I am still weirded that there's post Coco fans, but soon there will be people who never saw Fauna, or Shion, or Mumei. I'm horrified about that

@GeneralPetite @ChristianHeiens I would want a recession if only the government finally realized how the boom bust cycle works and abolish QE/ZIRP/FOMC/all of that, sadly they'll just keep stagflating as recessions are scary. Hoppe was so right about democracy.

When the Fed cuts interest rates, the yield on 10 and 30-year Treasuries is supposed to go DOWN, not UP. And yet the 10-year is flat, while the 30-year is actually higher than it was when the Fed began its rate-cutting cycle. We are entering a Bear Steepener. Americans borrow from the long end of the curve to get car loans and mortgages. They usually do not have access to the short end of the yield curve in the same way that financial firms or the Federal government do. We are nearing the endgame. The Fed is losing control of the situation, and the US is quietly slipping into Financial Dominance. Financial Repression will eventually follow.

The Kobeissi Letter@KobeissiLetter

The US bond market crisis is intensifying. While everyone is focused on AI and the Iran War, the US bond market is in a complete meltdown. The 30Y Yield is now above 5.00% and the 10Y Yield is nearing the pivotal 4.50% level, which resulted in President Trump's "90-day tariff pause" in April 2025. Long-term yields are now ABOVE levels seen prior to Fed rate cuts in another brutal reminder that the Fed can not contain the long-end of the yield curve. At the current pace, we will likely see US mortgage rates rise back above 7.00% this year. The question then becomes: How much longer can markets (or the US government) ignore the yield crisis? And, who folds first?

@RockChartrand This was for debt that preceded him maturing; he himself has brought Argentina into a surplus this isn't new debt. It also was a money swap not a bailout and Milei repaid it with interest back to the US in months

@RockChartrand He inherited a shitton of debt and instead of falling into the vicious cycle of trying to service it by inflating the currency, he chose to break free and strengthen the peso which just naturally makes servicing debt harder.

The irony is that critics act like painful stabilization during recovery proves freedom failed, while ignoring that the crisis itself was produced by the interventionist policies they defend. And the “people are eating donkey meat” line is just emotional propaganda. When socialist systems collapse people literally eat zoo animals, pets, rats, and tree bark. Argentina is nowhere near that. During the Mao era, especially during disasters like the Great Chinese Famine, people often ate whatever protein they could find because of extreme shortages caused by collectivization and central planning. That included dogs in some areas, along with many other animals. The famine itself killed tens of millions of people.
Liger@EdbieLigerSmith

The only “Libertarian” President in the world needs a $20 billion U.S. bailout because his economy is collapsing & his people are eating donkey meat.
