Kansas City Royals are debuting their new City Connect uniform tonight

Former USMNT player Chris Armas is coaching NWSL side KC Current this season. Although he has some experience coaching a women’s college team in the past, this is his first time coaching a women’s professional team. So there are criticisms about his appointment. “I didn't even know there's criticism,” Armas said when he was asked how he deals with those criticisms. “To be honest with you, I wouldn't know what kind of coach would they want here.” “You know, I've been around the game, I've coached, and I've had good seasons. I've been at Manchester United.” “If they could draw it up perfectly, who would they want?” “So listen, people might have thoughts and ideas. It's always about, you get into a job, you do the work, you do the best you can, to try to lead people, to give information, to instill a way of playing to create an environment where players can learn and feel comfortable, and always about getting the most out of the individual and the team.” “I know how to do that. I've done that everywhere I've been so, yeah.” “This idea of coaching men and women, I think some people maybe could have a problem or challenge with this. I've never had a challenge coaching and working with people.” “I know how to deal with people— that's men, that's women, that's anyone I've come across in life and on the pitch, that has been a strength of mine. It’s people.” Armas has coached MLS sides like New York Red Bulls, Toronto FC, and Colorado Rapids. He was also an assistant coach at Premier League sides like Manchester United, where he worked with Cristiano Ronaldo, and Leeds United.
