@sidseixeiroshow@_JordanDecker@Sid_Seixeiro The reality is the leafs are now going to be caught in no man’s land. Sure they’ll have the first pick, but how does it do anything but replace Marner in a situation that was already not working? Sounds crazy trading guys like Matthews and Nylander, but’s it’s not worked
The Montreal Canadiens are 8 victories away from winning the Stanley Cup.
What does this mean for Maple Leafs fans?

Weird feeling about tonight. We’ve outplayed them all series but last game was really bad and might be the best game they’ve ever played. Usually we have the talent advantage on most teams, but they’re right there if not a little more. No idea what happens
If Mr. Saturday Night scores in game 6 vs Buffalo, we are giving away an official jersey!

@fnveenie@_JordanDecker This is a do or die moment. If they seize the opportunity to take a commanding lead and close this series out next game then they will more than likely get a few days off before the next series but if they go to game 7 and pull it off they will face a rested Carolina team
I refuse to get cocky about this series. Anything can happen in a playoff series, and lineup or goaltender changes have been a factor in a series turning before. Lock in and take nothing for granted. Habs have a massive opportunity tonight.
@RobGoodall6@HockleyTyson@realmaxgenest The boomers didn’t build anything for the country, they built for themselves and slammed the door of opportunity shut behind them.
@HockleyTyson@realmaxgenest These morons don't get that their anger is being carefully, cleverly deflected away from the government which is responsible for this mess toward the generation that actually built the country they enjoy today.
@BeezerTwelve@Tablesalt13 He’s been talking about his love for the EU from the moment he made himself PM. Nothing of substance has happened and it won’t since we’re beholden to the US. Brookfield also is headquartered in the US now and all of his family lives there so he won’t risk it. It’s all talk
@thedouder@mario4thenorth The cycle continues of us hearing how great the “master economist” is, then he inevitably misses his target and they blame the bad man to the south
@mario4thenorth Every single month is the same. 29 days of hearing Carney is doing a great job, and then the real numbers come out. Analysts always predict one number, and the real numbers are consistently worse than expected. The Carney government is propped up on propaganda.
🚨 Canada’s jobs report just dropped
April 2026:
18,000 jobs LOST.
Unemployment: a 6 month high
Full-time jobs lost: 46,700
Canada has now lost jobs in THREE out of the first FOUR months of 2026
111,000 FULL TIME jobs gone since January
Youth unemployment: 14.3%
Quebec alone lost 43,000 jobs
Analysts predicted a GAIN of 15,000
They got a loss of 18,000
This is the same week Carney released his economic update calling Canada’s fiscal position “strong.”
The same week he announced a sovereign debt fund
The same week he flew to Armenia to rebuild the world order
111,000 full time jobs
Four months!
Gone
WHAT. HAS. CARNEY. DONE?!
@johnrum211@mario4thenorth You’re thinking of a Canada that doesn’t exist anymore. People are working multiple jobs to get by as the cost of living has increased so drastically and wages have not matched pace. Major companies are packing up and leaving because of high taxes and nothing is being created
@mario4thenorth There are still plenty of jobs in the market for everyone. In an economy like ours it is common to see ups and downs. We can not stress about it. Carney can't do magic. We will discuss his performance in 5 years from now.
@BeezerTwelve@Tablesalt13 We can’t move to the EU, that’s why he’s done nothing of substance but talk about it. The time for divestment away from the US has long since passed
I'm not sure if Canada's Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne is beyond delusional or just lies:
"The first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning is affordability...
We have demonstrated we are good fiscal managers, we lowered the deficit.
Housing is the first pillar."
Let's fact-check that:
> deficits are lower because of revenues from oil and resource prices.
> they added $37B+ in new spending.
> interest cost on debt will grow by 50% in the next 5 years.
> housing unaffordability was caused by their mass immigration policy.
