While Trump hasn't been perfect on H1-B, a drop of 30-50%, if true, is amazing. Now, if only the other 185 visa programs were being cut. Reminder that Student visas can transition to H-1 B and avoid the fee. There are claims that there are no H-1 B appointments available for up to two years, and all those who have to renew are stuck in India and China. Other programs have seen some drops, we will have to wait a year to see any change, but direct family/ immediate relative visas have risen. If these new changes are in effect for 12 years, it would make a considerable change to the face of immigration in the U.S. The changes in state cooperation with police, schools, and local governments mean that identifying and removing people in the future would be easier. This assumes the US actually intends to remove a significant number of course.
