I am sorry to see the KCC Cabinet Member for Local Government Efficiency @CllrFraserMoat has resigned following a "lapse of judgement" when he admitted Reform at @Kent_cc had not found significant savings or inefficiencies. I suspect his only crime was speaking the truth.
Lots of media interest as usual today @Kent_cc finishing off here with @itvnews Journalists all asking me ‘how have you managed to reduce the expected rise in council tax without cutting services?’ Answer: ▶️ we worked damned hard to realise significant in year savings ➡️ we identified waste and inefficiencies ▶️ we concentrated on reducing the long term debt ▶️ we introduced a commercial strategy ▶️ we identified future income generating schemes KCC was in a dire state when we got into office. I’m pleased that we have steadied the ship and have set a new course 🧭
