@muheediva01 While I agree that kids need to learn that they're not the center of the universe, this honestly reeks of insecure male logic. Like any man who has to say "I need to come first" is probably problematic.

@hell_line0 Yea I was the "problem" child and I imagine it would have been very hurtful if my parents posted things like this on the Internet.

@hispanicnomad My cousin and her husband were exactly like this. They had a baby at 35. This couple will likely have one child sooner or later.

I’ve travelled to 60+ countries at this point… And after a while it loses all of its meaning. It feels like grinding on a video game It’s almost like you HAVE to do it in order to “be cool”, when in fact, no one cares about the stamps on your passport I’m seriously cutting back on my travel now, and starting a family soon, God willing

Optimizing for short-term happiness and minimizing responsibilities might feel great at the moment. However, young adults at their peak health and energy levels often fail to properly weigh their decisions long-term. Traveling will inevitably get boring. How many selfies can one take on another vacation before it gets old? Arrested development and hedonism are pervasive among millenials. I see my past self affected by all this too. Looking at photos from 3 years ago, I realized that the bulk of my free time was spent chasing experiences as opposed to building something lasting, including my own family and hustles. There are a small subset of people for whom not forming families is the right path. But that is not the case for most, including those who consciously prioritize escapism in their adulthood. It will be painful if and when they change their mind later down the line.

@SimoneHCollins Moreover kids nowadays are encouraged to think that they owe their parents nothing. Therefore, even if you have kids there's no guarantee that they'll be any help in your old age.

Parenthood is incompatible with modernity—with buying everything (care, food prep, entertainment, etc.) outside the home. The more you buy in to atomized life, the less logical it is to have kids. People aren't crazy; they're just members of sterilizing cultures & societies.
Crémieux@cremieuxrecueil

The headline chart in the China paper is abysmal. Almost half of young (18-24) Chinese women in the latest year don't want to have *any* kids.

My boss's boss is like 42, never married, no kids. Earns $275-300K per year. Goes on a minimum of two international vacations a year w/ his girlfriend. 10+ days, all out. Eats the best food, stays in top notch accomodations. Excursions, tours, nicest beaches, etc. Great guy, I'm happy for him. But what I've realized is that without kids, you end up chasing a lifestyle that has to continually be topped in order for you to be satisfied and find happiness. What he and others like him don't understand is that when you have children, seeing THEM experience life's most basic things and watching their eyes light up at all the "firsts", brings greater pleasure and joy than any vacation or travel experience ever could. Seeing THEM try blueberries for the first time is greater than dining at the best 5 star restaurant in Europe. Seeing THEM learn how to walk is greater than walking the Great Wall of China or strolling along the most picturesque beach. Watching THEM giggle uncontrollably at "peek-a-boo" tops any A-list comedian act. Seeing THEIR excitement when building a fort out of cardboard boxes and making a door big enough for daddy is superior to staying at 5-star resorts. Flying kites with THEM far outweighs excursions like parasailing or helicopter rides. Seeing THEM perform a recital on stage for the first time is more rewarding than watching a Broadway show or top notch symphony orchestra. ----------------- When you have children, all of a sudden you realize that life's greatest joys are not in the pursuit of things or pleasure or travel, but rather in the LOVE and bond you share with your very own image bearers. Seeing the beauty and magnificence and wonder of life all over again for the first time through THEIR eyes and expressions gives you something the world simply cannot offer, nor even come close.

@Yeenie_Mcbeenie They had a few interactions early on. It's still obviously not going to happen. If anything, Robin is closer to Franky than to Zoro.

@NickWolfinger According to some stats I've seen 30% of married couples have no sex or have infrequent sex. Sure it's better than being single but it's still a miserable existence for many.

@MairGr The problem with this is that most marriages aren't sexless; indeed, married people get it a lot more than single people. Sure, married sex has declined, & no married couple fucks as much as people when they first meet. 1/2

A bunch of data here showing that one of the first principles of the manosphere, that 20% of the guys get 80% of the ladies, is a fiction. Someone tell Clavicular that he's mogging just fine.

@RealDianeYap That chart, and the overall notion we’re in a highly polygynous society, is a big lie which gets spread on social media. It’s no more true than the notion that the Earth is flat or the moon landings were faked. @nuance_enjoyer says this: nuancepill.substack.com/p/the-chad-myth

TODAY I WOKE UP FEELING FUCKING HIDEOUSLY BAD. BLEH BLEH BLEH. Asshole dripping with bile-shit. Throat full of snot-bile-garbage-death. COUGH COUGH COUGH I know why: I ate like fucking SHITTY SHIT yesterday. Multiple donuts, sausages, hibachi, pizza, candy, soda--a bunch of fucking garbage. What the fuck is wrong with me? Why do I do this shit? I don't mind being fat. That's fine. But if I'm going to be fat, I want to be fat on something good, not a bunch of slop-ass garbo feces simple carbohydrate nonsense that packs the calories of a three course meal but the nutritional value of cardboard. I ain't doing this shit no more. The ridiculous thing is that the day before yesterday, I didn't eat much. I had a bagel in the morning, and a hotdog (ketchup, mustard, relish, onions) in the evening--and I felt fine. Great, really. But I got static for "not eating enough." I don't get this shit. If I eat like a fucking pig all day, I feel like garbage, but no one says shit. If I take it easy on the food, I feel great, and people get "concerned." Like, fuck off with that. Quit encouraging me to be worse. Jesus.

Fat Fuck FAQ How’d I get so fat? I consume more calories than I burn. That’s how fat works. Why am I so fat? Because I like calorie dense foods and detest most physical activity. Aren’t I ashamed of how fat I am? Nah. Aren’t I worried about my health? Nah. Why don’t I eat right and work out? Because I don’t want to. Don’t I think I’d be more attractive if I was skinny or muscular? Maybe to you. But why the fuck do I want to attract you? —- I don’t give a rats ass about “fat empowerment” or “healthy at any size” nonsense. My body is the result of my decisions. I don’t regret those decisions and will continue to make them. I also have no interest in GLP-1s or extended dieting. Sometimes I diet to lose a little weight, but that’s just so I can enjoy the process of putting it back on. I am not a model or an athlete, therefore there is no reason for me to maintain any sort of particular body type, so I instead have one that reflects what I enjoy: eating a lot and being lazy. Thank you for your attention on this matter.
