We asked young men who are unsure about marriage why they hesitate. The top reason, again, is: "it is hard to find the right person to marry." This theme shows up across young adults, men and women. And it's the same story with family formation: the #1 reason Americans are not having the number of children they desire is "Still looking for the right spouse/partner to have children with." CNN: Emma Bagby, a substance abuse therapist from Scarborough, Maine said Platner lost her support after comments he made about sexual assault “I was really on board for him up until, you know, the controversy that happened a few months ago, is when I kind of started questioning. Making the comments about women being sexually assaulted, and that they need to take responsibility for themselves in that aspect, you know, that kind of rhetoric, just is scary right now.” In 2020 — the last year with available exit poll data — Maine's electorate was 59% female.
