Today, I introduced a resolution to fully condemn the distorted message that was preached at President Trump during the National Prayer Service on Monday. I strongly urge my colleagues to act quickly on this resolution to show President Trump that the sermon given is not reflective of the faith community at large.

Bishop Budde hijacked the National Prayer Service to promote her radical ideology. This was an opportunity to unify the country in prayer, but she used it to sow division. Even worse, she’s continued her political crusade in media interviews. Shameful.

In the past 24 hours I’ve learned of the deaths of two women; friends & former colleagues, both younger than me (though one by less than I’d thought). This follows news a couple of months ago of another friend & former colleague, a *much* younger man. I feel my mortality today.
