We actually looked at California. A preliminary @DHSgov review found 81,336 California registrants whose name, date of birth, address, and Social Security number MATCH a non-citizen in our files. Not to mention, it takes California four weeks to count ballots in a mayor’s race. Third-world countries do it better.

California has free, fair, and secure elections and we will fight for them. Try us.

Dear @asha_shar @XBOX On behalf of VGP, we would like to share our perspective as a retailer that has proudly supported the gaming industry and the Xbox brand for many years. When Microsoft originally introduced the vision for the Xbox One with a strong emphasis on digital ownership, the response from consumers was immediate. Sony took advantage of that moment by positioning the PlayStation 4 as the console that embraced physical game ownership, and history shows how influential that decision became. Today, the market is shifting once again. Sony appears to be moving further toward a digital-first future, creating an opportunity for Microsoft to differentiate itself by becoming the industry's strongest advocate for physical media. We encourage Microsoft to revisit Project Helix and make physical games a core part of its strategy. There remains a passionate and dedicated audience that values collecting, preserving, lending, trading, and truly owning the games they purchase. As a retailer, we see that demand every day. The saying "what goes around comes around" feels especially relevant. Years ago, Sony benefited by championing physical ownership while Microsoft moved toward digital. Today, Microsoft has an opportunity to reverse that narrative and become the company that stands behind consumer choice. Many gamers still look back on the Xbox 360 era as the golden age of Xbox. The platform was synonymous with innovation, great games, and strong relationships with both players and retail partners. We believe Microsoft can recapture much of that goodwill by reaffirming its commitment to physical gaming and by bringing Project Helix to market. As one of Microsoft's retail partners, we believe a renewed investment in physical media would benefit consumers, retailers, publishers, and Xbox itself. We respectfully encourage you and your leadership team to consider this opportunity and help usher Xbox back to the position of industry leadership that so many fans remember. Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to seeing Xbox continue to innovate while supporting the millions of players who still value physical game ownership. Sincerely VGP

Had your morning coffee? Good. Sign this now! change.org/p/don-t-kill-t… 112.000 and counting. We need the number of signatures to skyrocket. We need a beacon of resistance that shows Sony we won't stand for them taking away physical games and ownership!

Physical games have always been more than just a format to us — they are history you can hold in your hands. For nearly 40 years, VGP has been part of that history. From the early days of gaming through generations of consoles and changing industry trends, we’ve remained committed to one simple idea: that physical games deserve to be preserved, shared, and enjoyed long after their initial release window has passed. Over the years, that mission has evolved into something we are especially proud of — helping bring hard-to-find and out-of-print titles back into circulation so new and returning players alike can experience them. Whether it’s reprinting rare games, supporting collectors, or making overlooked titles accessible again, we’ve always believed that great games shouldn’t disappear just because time moves forward. As the industry continues to evolve toward digital-first distribution, we recognize that change is inevitable. But we also believe that physical games continue to hold a unique place in the hearts of players around the world — as collectibles, as cultural artifacts, and as an experience that digital alone cannot fully replace. Whatever the future holds, VGP remains deeply committed to supporting physical gaming for as long as there is demand and passion for it. We will continue doing what we’ve always done: preserving games, serving collectors, and ensuring that physical media remains part of the gaming landscape for generations to come. We don’t see physical games as something fading away — we see them as something worth preserving. And we intend to keep doing exactly that. — The VGP Team

Maybe it's the pessimist in me, but it feels like the outrage is dying down about Sony's decision. Of the people I've contacted in the industry it's 100% despair and disbelief. However, few have been willing to be vocal or say they're going to do everything they can. There's been a lot of "Yeah we hate this and we'll talk internally about our next move". or "We'll be sure to provide physicals while we still can". Never mind the unhelpfully neutral Twitter statements. NO! This is fighting for your business' survival. I get you don't want to poke the tiger, but the tiger is going to eat you anyways. Publishers - fight Sony! Don't be scared. They need you as much as you need them.
