However, our position is that if this requirement is insisted upon, it can certainly be met—provided we are given some time for compliance, which is currently not being granted... The way this entire action is being carried out is hazardous, and we oppose it. While we respect the underlying intent, those subject to these regulations must be given adequate time to comply... If their business is ruined, the milk supply to households could be jeopardised; furthermore, if excessive pressure is put on them, the price of their milk will rise, directly affecting the common citizen..."
