@Rab_Dickson1 Young people have been told by social media that everything is the fault of the people who worked to give their children everything they could. It is up to the young to change things they don't like in the same way it was up to us to change the things we didn't like.

I never remember my generation, or the one before, decrying people who received the state pension as some sort of scrounger class. What has happened to people?

Yes most of us swear but as President he should be held to a higher standard of behaviour than shouting obscenities on social media. He brings the office into disrepute at every turn.

not to be dramatic but putting alkaline soap (~pH 8) on tissue that’s meant to be acidic (skin ~5, vagina ~3–4) is how you end up with “why do I smell” >> “use more soap” >> more imbalance >> repeat water (or a pH-balanced wash in SOME cases) is enough

@james_xond We actually walked or cycled to their house and asked if they were in and if they could come out. Once we were out we would arrange the next meeting. Sometimes you waited around for ages for them and they didn't show up. At school you made arrangements to meet at the weekend.

@Huhimagine @MandersSnark1 @alphafox That’s a dessert spoon (though they call it a dinner spoon.) Soup spoons have wider bowls. Also the smaller forks are salad forks, not cake forks. Cake forks are yea spoon sized and tend to have asymmetric tines.

@shivmalik But the person doing my job now earns a lot more than I did then. We bought what we could afford on our wages. The things people pay for today didn't even exist back then. Streaming, internet, mobile phones, to name but a few. These are monthly bills we never had.

Dear boomers, can you afford to buy the house you live in currently with the wage you used to earn before you retired? If you can’t, then that’s the whole housing problem in a nutshell. It really is that simple to understand.
