It’s an unpopular view but Arsenal’s title is the story of considerable overperformance against wealthier opposition - City’s higher wage bill is the equivalent of more than five Sakas It wasn’t always pretty but it is maximising everything you’ve got independent.co.uk/sport/football…

When Arsenal smashed Spurs 4-1 in February Peter Schmeichel was sat just at the front of the press box. When Gyokeres scored the fourth goal Schmeichel stormed out of his seat to head down to get ready for his post match interview with steam coming out of his ears. He was fuming and clearly so, so gutted at seeing Arsenal win so well. Any other team today, he 100% says that's clear foul and backs the keeper. Seeing him like this just makes that win feel even sweeter.

Peter Schmeichel talking sense. 🗣️

@_PhilCosta Yeah agreed. Today's performance was actually decent. It's the shite performances/results since the turn of the year that has damaged us.

I'm not excusing the finishing. We hit both posts, missed a clear 1v1 and put a free header over the bar from six yards. But considering how tragic we've been attacking-wise for months, we were brave today and created plenty. Not that it matters at this moment.
Phil Costa@_PhilCosta

I'm devastated. Arsenal played well and did more than enough to get something from that game. Luck wasn't with us at all and we paid the price for some shocking defending leading up to their winner. Gutted.

@YankeeGunner Hate to say this but set piece looks our most likely threat. Toothless going forward.

Aside from Noni for Saka, it's our *current* first choice attack. We can make "tweaks" but that's about it. Unfortunately, I think we are just going to have to grind out games for the rest of the season and find goals wherever we can without being too picky or expecting too much

@YankeeGunner I'm not even giving this game my full attention because the way we play is just terrible right now. So risk averse, passive, boring and most importantly, ineffective. It's painful watching us and will be shocked if we win the league with this attack/lack of threat.

You don't have to be a keen football observer to see the problems with Arsenal right now. The passing game isn't close to what's required. Mostly slow and lateral, and then lacking precision when attempting to play forward. And as a result, Arsenal generate very little threat.

It had been four years since Ben White's last England appearance - and his return could hardly have been more eventful. There was a goal, the concession of a stoppage-time penalty and plenty of boos from sections of the Wembley crowd. Whatever the reaction, the past week has put White firmly in contention for a place in Thomas Tuchel's World Cup squad. 📝 @JackPittBrooke 🔗 bit.ly/3O6CALp

(Obvs the corners are a justifiable talking point, Arsenal are good at them! Lots of teams are now. But that's because Arsenal try to be good at everything, that is the story here imo).

Leverkusen reminded me a little of Villa when they are on form- a team we have struggled against when they are on song. Very central, lots of lines of pass and, as with every team that plays Arsenal, they got behind the ball quickly. Took us a few minutes to work out but Arsenal's big strength this season is their adaptability to play the game the opposition gives them. Worked it out quickly and started dominating. Really strong performance against a good, well organised team.

A "Sir" worth £30,000,000,000 and who moved his residency to Monaco to avoid tax....calls out immigrants as the problem. This man is the manifestation of all that's wrong with society, not the poor person seeking a better life.
Sky News@SkyNews

Manchester United part-owner has told @EdConwaySky the UK has been "colonised" by immigrants, who are draining resources from the state, as he warns of the country facing profound political, social and economic challenges. 🔗 trib.al/osc1ZDm

Kick It Out statement: Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s comments are disgraceful and deeply divisive at a time when football does so much to bring communities together. In addition to the inaccurate figures mentioned, it’s worth reminding him that Manchester United has a diverse fan base and plays in a city whose cultural history has been enriched by immigrants. This type of language and leadership has no place in English football, and we believe most fans will feel the same.

Good grief. Polio vaccination is one of the great triumphs of the last 100 years. The only two forces I know that are suspicious of polio vaccination are the Trump administration and the Taliban.

@clivepafc Completely understand the frustration. So glad you touched on Odegaard briefly as he's been frustrating so much this season. Not all of it was his own fault but his physicality, or lack of it, is maddening

I feel better this morning. Frustrated but calm. More regrets than Liverpool but we control every game. We just need to execute. A challenge when you have a squad like ours is how you manage change - having a simplistic framework which maintains balance is essential 🔴🎙️
