@manishsinha11 @Tara_Deshpande I spent my whole childhood in army barracks. Half my family has served or still serves, from jawans to high-ranking officers. The real issue is with the structure itself, and it’s unlikely to ever change because whatever happens inside the army system stays within the system.

@Manish089 @Tara_Deshpande Your basic assumption is itself flawed. That is why you should not comment on things u have not experienced yourself. Most of the times the maximum comment on the armed forces are by ppl who know nothing about them. Stay within ur core competencies. Leave the rest

He served his country by putting his life on the line. He has a right to speak, and he pays an annual membership fee. As for loitering which is illegal, a bonafide member has a right to use a property. A vast number of members at this ‘elite’ club are defence personnel who defended the freedom we enjoy.
Piyush Kulshreshtha@ThinkersPad

😂😂😂 This entitled guy who is an ex-Army Officer thinks because Delhi Gymkhana is his Second Home and his whole family loiters about here whole day, the Govt of India has given fictitious grounds to evict them.

Stop throwing a fit. Delhi Gymkhana is a private club. No one’s taking away your membership of it. Just that, leave aside valid security concerns, taxpayers are no longer willing to subsidise to the tune of thousands of crores, your stale cutlets and evening swims. My views:

The Delhi Gymkhana Club has been issued a notice by the Central Government to vacate the land on which it stands. indianexpress.com/article/cities… ndtv.com/india-news/del… I am not going into the legality of the notice, as I believe the matter is sub judice in the Delhi High Court. But what I wish to say, on the basis of my own several visits there, is that it is frequented, and its members are, well to do businessmen, high ranking bureaucrats and military officers, and other affluent so called 'elite' of society, and their families, who care two hoots for the vast majority of Indians who are poor. They come there to eat good food, drink excellent liquor ( often imported, and consequently very expensive ), talk gossip, and generally entertain themselves and make merry, while totally indifferent and insensitive to the terrible sufferings of the Indian masses. It is a colonial relic, and I will shed no tears if it meets its demise

@manishsinha11 @Tara_Deshpande The Indian Army is largely inherited from the British Army, there is already too much divide inside between Officers and Jawans. In an institution that already has such established divisions, who am I to divide it further?

@amitmalviya Mr Malviya It’s written all over that the victory is that of a consolidated Hindu vote Why the hell do you want to split into castes & sub castes Won’t be surprised if you start building Ambedkar statues all over Bengal The way TMC went down, you too may end up similarly

What we have witnessed in these elections is not just an electoral trend, it is a social verdict. Across states, SC and ST communities have spoken with clarity and conviction, rejecting those who sought to patronise them while disrespecting one of their own, President Droupadi Murmu. West Bengal’s 2026 Assembly results mark a decisive political realignment in reserved constituencies. Out of 68 SC seats, the BJP won 51 (75%), leaving just 17 for the TMC, signalling a clear consolidation of Dalit support. In ST seats, the shift is even sharper: the BJP swept all 16, reflecting a uniform mandate across tribal regions like North Bengal and Junglemahal. Overall, the BJP secured 67 of 84 SC/ST seats, reducing the TMC to 17 and wiping out other parties. Reserved constituencies, once fragmented and contested, have now become a pillar of the BJP’s dominance. This outcome shows deep social penetration among historically marginalised groups. The consolidation of the Matua community, particularly in border districts, further powered this surge. In Assam, the BJP and its allies have achieved near-total consolidation in reserved constituencies. Of the 9 SC seats, the BJP won 5, while the NDA secured 8, leaving just one for the Congress. Among the 19 ST seats, the BJP won 13, and with allies like the AGP and BPF, the NDA swept all 19. Delimitation played a structural role, increasing ST seats from 16 to 19 and SC seats from 8 to 9, amplifying indigenous and tribal representation. Strong coordination with allies and sustained outreach in Upper Assam and hill regions ensured this comprehensive victory. The momentum extended to the south as well. NDA ally AIADMK won 9 out of 46 SC reserved seats and 1 of 2 ST seats in Tamil Nadu. In Puducherry, NDA ally AINRC secured 2 out of 5 SC reserved constituencies. This is more than numbers, it is a message. Communities that have long been spoken for are now speaking for themselves. The insult to President Droupadi Murmu has not been forgotten, and the ballot has become the instrument of response. The BJP’s rise in SC/ST reserved constituencies reflects not just political expansion, but a deeper alignment with aspirations, dignity, and representation.

My advice to the @BJP4India : don’t make a weakling the Bengal Chief Minister and create a puppet show: Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh should make you happy playing with a remote! Choose someone who will change Bengal and not someone who will change for you!

1. Just got off a call with @UnSubtleDesi. I couldn't be happier for her and both of us couldn't help but discuss the harrowing days of post poll violence in West Bengal in 2021. So I am going to share what happened five years ago just so ppl know what happened. #WestBengal2026.

There is now a double engine govt in West Bengal, Assam and Tripura. Police and BSF are in their control. There are no more excuses remaining. Illegal infiltration along the Bangladesh border must stop.

@Airtel_Presence I switch from a normal postpaid connection to airtel one merging my fibre connection to it. Since both the bill dates were different I got a prorated bill. However, it's higher than what it should be. I've called customer care several times but no resolution.

The greatest legacy of the Modi Era will remain how bullying & harassment of citizens by Sanghi goons was normalised, justified & cheered. This kind of communal bullying is an abject shame on ur govt. @pushkardhami @uttarakhandcops Goons & gundas are free to do as they please?

Bajrang Dal reaches Lenskart showrooms in Dehradun, Uttarakhand! They tied kalawa and applied tilak on hundreds of Hindu and Sikh employees. They warned: If Lenskart can't allow Hindu symbols, they should shift to a Muslim country. People praised the Bajrang Dal for their efforts in protecting Hindu culture and civilization.

@ShivrattanDhil1 Same for Delhi Ddn expressway. Just as the xpressway concludes, the speed limit suddenly drops from 80 kmph to 40 kmph on a downhill section, with a speed camera installed right there. It seems the focus is more on generating fines than ensuring smooth traffic flow. Scam!

Absolutely a scam! On highways from Jaipur to Chandigarh and even towards Manali, speed sensors are placed on downhill stretches. Even on cruise control, your speed naturally creeps up by 5–7 km/h due to the slope. That’s why people driving at 72–74 km/h end up getting challans for 82 km/h. NHAI seriously needs to review and remove these unfairly placed sensors! @NHAI_Official @nitin_gadkari
