UPDATE: Concerns have been raised about the safety of Mazwi Kubheka by his family. Hours after his release, there has been no communication from SAPS despite assurances that Mazwi would receive protection. The family adds that they informed the Gauteng SAPS Commissioner that upon Mazwi's discharge from the hospital, a police escort was not even provided and the family was followed by unknown vehicles. Promises were made by SAPS to provide security, but to date, nothing. The family then informed the SAPS of their desire to move Mazwi to an undisclosed location out of desperation to ensure their son was safe. However, according to the family, SAPS indicated that this would only be possible after a two-week period, as they needed to complete their investigative procedures, including obtaining statements and conducting identification parades. @eNCA @Abramjee

Gauteng Police Commissioner Tommy Mthombeni on Saturday night broke the news to us that #Mazwi had been found. At the time he didn’t know the details But these are the words HE used & how HE explained it to viewers and South Africans. Later on when we got to the police station we explained further given details were clearer!

I think your comments is extremely unfair. The provincial commissioner LIVE on ENCA said this. Hence I used ‘’ I didn’t say it. And I started off by saying he has been found. ENCA has been covering this and understands the severity of this matter. So please don’t try and diminish that by what the PC.
