@Hereforthetext @Polymarket China has a socialist market economy. What do you think a market economy is? You have all of your definitions backwards. You are mistaking a market economy for capitalism, which is just a type of market economy where the means of production are privately owned.

@HazREDous @atrupar If you choose to support neither side when one party is the clear aggressor, you are not neutral, you are an accomplice.

@KevinSc95230446 @BohuslavskaKate I love fake news from random Facebook posts!
English

@MarbleDuck @BohuslavskaKate Ukraine was not a NATO state and there was never such a legal commitment.
Ukraine never had the votes to join NATO as well.
Not forming at minimum a subcommittee wthin NATO to address Russian grievances was also a huge mistake.

English

MACRON: Americans tried to negotiate with Russia. What was the result of those efforts? Nothing.
We Europeans also tried to negotiate with Russia. What happened? Nothing.
Zelenskyy also said, "I’m ready to negotiate with Russia." What did Putin say? "No."
So, President Trump, just like all the G7 members, agreed that Russia has shown no serious willingness to engage in peace negotiations.
We all agreed to increase our support for Ukraine. We all stated that we would increase pressure on Russia, and we all agreed to remain steadfast on this path.
This represents real change compared to the last few months, not just from Europe, but from all G7 members and all those who support Ukraine.
English

@KevinSc95230446 @BohuslavskaKate “Boris Johnson scuttled the peace deal” is such a tired line.

English

@BohuslavskaKate Too bad they listened to Boris Johnson and his NATO allies back in 2022.
The signing of a peace deal had already been half finished before Boris talked Zelenski into continuing with the war.
Now the mutual distrust is going to be difficult to repair.

@IFlippedTheChip @seanders_geo @ProgressiveVic @Mike_from_PA @Hrundo1 @RefrmDemocracy @DarializaforNY What does it say on my profile picture
English

@MarbleDuck @seanders_geo @ProgressiveVic @Mike_from_PA @Hrundo1 @RefrmDemocracy @DarializaforNY You don’t even live in Ukraine. You’re a German “Information Warfare” whore.
English

We have hundreds of volunteers ready and waiting to canvass and phonebank for you @DarializaforNY once we know where you stand on Ukraine. All you need to do is commit to fighting against both American AND Russian imperialism.
Track Ukraine@TrackUkraine
NY-13 congressional candidate @DarializaforNY has been silent on Ukraine while campaigning. Her website said she opposed all military aid until it was removed in February with no explanation. ❌Opposes military aid ❌Framed Russia as victim ❗️Future aid position unclear
English

@IFlippedTheChip @seanders_geo @ProgressiveVic @Mike_from_PA @Hrundo1 @RefrmDemocracy @DarializaforNY 1 person = .00000025% of the population. Less than statistical noise
24% of Ukraine is currently internally displaced. It is unknown to what extent polling center risk would impact voter turnout, but over 50% of Ukraine’s population is currently experiencing regular strikes
English

So because a small number of people can’t vote, NOBODY gets to vote. What happens in normal times when one person gets kidnapped? Do all elections have to stop because “that person wouldn’t be represented”? No election on earth has ever required the nonsensical rule that “literally everyone, even those in occupied territories, has to vote, or NOBODY GETS TO VOTE.”
How could this possibly be sustained? What if someone doesn’t show up to vote? Does the whole country run around looking for them (just in case they were somehow stopped by Putin from voting!)
English

@IFlippedTheChip @seanders_geo @ProgressiveVic @Mike_from_PA @Hrundo1 @RefrmDemocracy @DarializaforNY …disproportionately affecting: those not able bodied, the elderly, those with young children, or any other factors that might push the risk calculus one way or another
English

@IFlippedTheChip @seanders_geo @ProgressiveVic @Mike_from_PA @Hrundo1 @RefrmDemocracy @DarializaforNY More directly: concerts are voluntary. Voting is not—people attending concerts are willingly doing the risk assessment and can choose at any time to simply not attend. Voting is not a concert. Voting access will be restricted based on who has a specific tolerance for risk…
English

@IFlippedTheChip @seanders_geo @ProgressiveVic @Mike_from_PA @Hrundo1 @RefrmDemocracy @DarializaforNY Moreover, you wouldn’t get fair representation. Population in the east is far less likely to be able to vote/far higher risk. Whereas in the west you’d have low risk/more turnout. Occupied territories won’t be able to vote at all. Bottom line: Russia needs to agree to a ceasefire
English

@IFlippedTheChip @seanders_geo @ProgressiveVic @Mike_from_PA @Hrundo1 @RefrmDemocracy @DarializaforNY Because life must go on? People still need jobs to live? Food to eat? A poll station is high density and a fixed target. Also not required for the bare minimum of sustenance to the economy. Criminal negligence to gather people at a polling center resulting in mass casualty event
English

@realitywonk @dig6394 @Protohype42 @LukeMiani ??
I have a persistent overuse injury on my heel and need to maximize padding on the foot to be able to continue running regularly. Weirdo.
English

> save $15M a year by cutting a screwworm monitoring program
> screwworm outbreak almost immediately
> $1B to combat it
Government efficiency
FactPost@factpostnews
The Trump administration has announced they'll need to spend an estimated $1 billion to combat the New World Screwworm.
English

@realitywonk @dig6394 @Protohype42 @LukeMiani Kind of hard to breed sterile flies and drop them in Panama without money, isn’t it? I can’t figure why you’re going to bat for this: it’s a simple case of government incompetence. Unless you believe that the government is infallible, which is also insane.
English

@realitywonk @dig6394 @Protohype42 @LukeMiani >make program that prevents screw worms
>it stops
>screw worms are no longer prevented
English

@realitywonk @dig6394 @Protohype42 @LukeMiani into North America. Most notably by producing and dropping sterile flies in Panama, among other measures.
English

@realitywonk @dig6394 @Protohype42 @LukeMiani The logical issue here is that a fire department is reactive, while screw worm prevention is proactive. A fire department responds only after the fire has begun, while the screw worm program has historically operated in south and Central America to stop the spread of the worm
English

@ClipBurghFrieza @MarbleDuck @realitywonk @LukeMiani They opened the door, inviting it out to attack. Only They were never the ones meant to suffer for it. The tiger attacks anyone, even if the people opening the cage are invisible, hidden safely in their towers, opening it with hired hands
English

@therevjoeblank @dias_adolf53436 @KyivIndependent Anyway, I find it kind of amusing that someone can hold opinions on a place they've never been, of which they have no historical understanding, and can't speak any of the involved languages.
English

@therevjoeblank @dias_adolf53436 @KyivIndependent "the allegations they make - for the most part - are true"
Which ones exactly? The ones in between committing pervasive war crimes and sundry atrocity? Murders on Monday, reasonable measured factual allegations on Tuesday?
English

As the front line shifts across Ukraine, more and more animals are abandoned to face the realities of war alone — stranded on the streets, constantly at risk of being killed by strikes or trapped in anti-drone nets and left to starve.
As part of the "Finding Home" project, the Kyiv Independent spoke with five families who opened their homes to animals rescued from the war zone.
