I need people to understand how difficult it is to get an NIH grant. You spend months writing a proposal, following strict guidelines that include a detailed multiyear budget, bios of everyone on your team, plans for participant safety & ethical conduct. Then you send it off -1/n

@Oldboatie Recently finished chemo & attended NHS eye clinic today for cataract discussion. Apart from the consultant no one wore masks & at least 2 workers were right in my face doing things to my eyes! When asked about masks they say it wasn’t mandatory & that it was wise I wore mine!

@trishgreenhalgh @bmj_latest Yes. Cancer nurse academic here undergoing chemo who observes that clin priorities are process driven, not always pt centred. Research is rarely mentioned. Even serv evaluation questionnaire’s are questionable. Love to contribute meaningfully in both capacities, pt & researcher.
