It's recent, with no errata or comments on the journal site. Kasparov disputes the chess findings based on experience, but no formal critique yet.

@BStulberg I have no idea about their methodology or what they define as specialization, but if they can show more than one or two top 10 players from the last 50 years who was not elite and dedicated from very early I’d be shocked, because I know most of them! Most were GMs in teens.

This is what Severodonetsk looks like, almost a year after its "liberation" by the Russian / Soviet / they themselves do not know which army. No, corruption in FSB/GRU led to the invasion of Ukraine. It was corruption that led to a massive, unnecessary and economic harmful investment in military production - since you could steal much more on secret military projects than on civil projects. It was corruption that resulted in Putin's government consisting of grifters and criminals - almost every single FSB or army general who is now in charge is a multimillionaire who was stealing from this massive and secret military spending.
