@VividProwess I’ve never heard anyone say they want to vacation in the nation of Columbia either, but here we are: Gomez fled Columbia for the USA and now she wants to feel important. Off with ICE you go, Valentina.

Valentina Gomez to Piers Morgan: “Pakistan is a dirty shit hole full of terrorists, I’ve never ever heard anyone say that they want to go to Pakistan for a vacation.” He was left speechless.

@JonathanTurley Especially ironic that the same Government (though a different Administration) blocked an attempt by Jet Blue to rescue Spirit *without* using taxpayer dollars.

The suggestion that the government should buy out and own 90 percent of Spirit Airlines reminds me of something Milton Friedman said: "If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in 5 years there'd be a shortage of sand."

@bradaisa The President and I seem to have different definitions of “obliterate.” I’m reminded of the legendary scene in “The Princess Bride” (“You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”)

What an utter debacle. Iran still has gunboats, and are using them to fire on ships, and take them hostage. They seemingly still have missiles and drones. It doesn't matter how much the bomb the military core, as long as they have those two weapons, the strait and neighboring countries are in peril. How bad is our intelligence that this couldn't be predicted? I don't have the answer, but what we're doing sure isn't it... thehill.com/policy/interna…

@bradaisa Medicare is already on track to bankrupt the entire U.S. economy over the next 20 or 30 years. Spending is projected to exceed by far that of S.S. That’s without extending benefits to the rest of the population. Doing so would force a massive reduction in service.

"Medicare for all" is a giant fraud. (Disclosure: I am on Medicare.) Those of us on Medicare payed a lofty payroll tax our working lives into the Medicare fund. It is similar to Social Security. I oppose both programs in principle, but I was given no choice over funding them, so feel no guilt in using them. "Medicare for all" meaning "Medicare in addition to those who paid for it through their payroll taxes" would have to be funded somehow... How? The additional taxes for providing current coverage for all would be enormous. And never-even-mind it is yet more immoral coercion. And never-even-mind it would destroy our health care system, and lead to vast shortages and waiting lists as it has in most if not all countries who do this. (Canada has waiting list web sites.) And never-even-mind that it is our semi-free system that creates the innovations parasitized by the socialist systems; which innovation would collapse in a socialist system, dragging the quality of not just our health care, but every other country leeching off our innovations. Wait... Mind!

@bradaisa Another tactic would be to find geographic pockets of strength for the rebels, and send in teams to arm and train them.

> President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he thinks the U.S. is “going to end up with a great deal” with Iran to end the weekslong war (CNBC) Our President is deluded, and speaking dangerously. From everything I've red recently, Iran is currently a military dictatorship under control of the fanatic and avaricious Revolutionary Guard. We could never believe or trust a deal made with Iran's current leadership. To my mind, the only thing that can work is not more bombing of infrastructure, but targeting go the Guard, until they cease to exist. We need to promise the Iranians that if their military dictatorship is decimated, we will provide interim protection of the country while they establish a secular parliamentary republic.

"[Trump] says the ceasefire will continue until Tehran presents a "unified proposal" to continue Pakistan talks." (Fox News) I wonder if Trump punished his misbehaving kids by giving them candy, and telling them, "The candy will continue until you start behaving!"

@sharrond62 The only thing I'd add is that the whole trans scam is being run by (mostly non-athlete) women. Female professors, journalists, and politicians are the ones pushing this the hardest. And then there is Rapinoe.

Women & girls are self excluding every where whilst men & boys trespass in their private spaces & sports. The feelings of confused males are put before the feelings & legal ‘rights’ of females. And they have the audacity & cheek to say it’s not pure misogyny, a men first policy.
James Davis@jamesdavis6939

A woman says she is self-excluding from parkrun because of their discriminatory self-ID policy. The response from this person? Not an ounce of sympathy and basically telling her she is wrong to be self-excluding.

@Laurie0801 We don't like catastrophes. Being "covered" and getting the treatment you need are two entirely different things, as contemporary experience in Canada and the U.K. shows. "Universal healthcare" is the medical version of the Post Office or the DMV.

Both Iran and Hezbollah have violated the ceasefire today. Let the bombs start flying, @realDonaldTrump. It’s the only thing these 8th century jihadist barbarians understand. New target lists, refreshed armaments, rested pilots…., let’s go! You tried to play, Mr. President, and they’re too stupidly proud to accept it. Regime change is the new recipe. It’s the only one. What are your thoughts? I read ALL replies!

Universal HIGH INCOME via checks issued by the Federal government is the best way to deal with unemployment caused by AI. AI/robotics will produce goods & services far in excess of the increase in the money supply, so there will not be inflation.

Universal [Basic|High] Income = Communism. It is based on the idea that production will just happen magically, completely evading the fact that producers do so in order to earn profits. And what and how much they produce is mediated by the choices made by consumers, who in order to consume must first have produced. That is still true when you steal from some and give money to those who produce nothing—those from whom you steal had to produce first for you to steal from them. (And printing more fiat money is just stealing from everyone.) The greatest economist in history, Ludwig von Mises, proved that a centrally planned economy is impossible—without the mechanism of prices that emerge on the free market, it becomes impossible to know what to produce or how. It's why the closest approximation, Soviet Russia, failed so spectacularly. And it must be noted that at least they had knowledge of production gained from observing semi-free market economies. Without even that, an economy would degenerate into bare subsistence. Growing productivity on a scale not even seen by the industrial then technological revolutions will result in a plethora of goods being available at very low prices compared to now. That implies that even a relatively luxurious lifestyle relative to now will be possible without much work. But there must still be jobs, earnings, and a free market. Be a waiter or other human service person once a week, if all you want is a "basic income." It's very ironic that one of the most productive human beings in history, Elon Musk, is promoting a social system that will enslave him, and deliver everyone into a dystopian life of penury, not plenty. @elonmusk

@JDHaltigan Trump is foolish to claim “regime change” in Iran because he has replaced one set of Jihadi fanatics with another. The new ones are *not* more reasonable. They just know how to lie low until the coast is clear.
