Can’t use AI for journalism because LLMs sometimes get facts wrong, unlike human sources who are unfailingly honest and accurate.

Kind of amazing how little press coverage Artemis II has received, given how ambitious it is.

A regular solar panel on Earth has a higher power density (W/kg) than the RTG used on the Curiosity Mars rover. (radioisotope thermal generator) Curiosity's RTG produced 110 watts of electrical power at the start of the mission and weighs 45kg. (4.8 kg of which is the Pu-238 dioxide fuel) ~2.4 W/kg A 720 W solar panel weighs ~38 kg. At 20% CF, that's ~3.8 W/kg. Curiosity's RTG charges two 28V 42Ah lithium ion batteries (~1 day of storage) that power the 900W peak demand of the system. Solar and storage is the path to decentralized energy sovereignty.
